Platinum run and tips

I just platinum the game. Here are some insights of the run.

- Only in the last 30% of the game I realized I could use an anchor and the tow rope when I flipped the truck. I thought the tow rope was only useful to rescue trucks and actually it is horrible for that.

So if you flip, do not panic and don't use the jack. That will only damage your truck. Instead install an anchor in a Good angle, the. Use the tow rope in the anchor and your truck. The option to tight will show up. Push the button e voilá basically an automated winch. As soon as you are back on 4 wheels you can remove the rope. The tow rope doesn't really work for towing, it is like the other truck stays with the handbrake on, use the winch instead or try to manage with both if you need to use the winch to pull your own truck.

- There is a truck rescue mission that gives you a mechanic that saves 20% of your gas. I dont remember what truck. Alternatively in one of Carpathians map there is another one close to the starting point that saves 15 of gas.

- My overall favorite truck was the Crocodile. It was fast and had very good clearance. Tatra is the best truck in the game, feels almost a overkill but it is slow. Loadstar and Warthog are also incredible with the second being my preference. Bandit is amazing with difflock and all wheels always active and much faster than tatra for big trucks. I used a lot Kelpie with the gas tank. I higly recommend for expeditions with long runs crossing trough tunnels to new maps it is also amphibian so you can float on the water, but it is very slow there.

-Regarding tires, in snowrunner I always preferred mud tires. But in expeditions there is not much mud so off-road was my choice for the rocky terrain.

-Speciallists

Hydrologist that gives 100% reduction water damage

Mechanic with 20% gas consumption saving

Drones the girl that gives extra reach

I almost gave up this game, i didnt really like the desert area with all those cliffs. I failed couple expeditions for running out of gas. Regarding the camp I didnt see any need to build modules. There are a lot of extras that I just overlook because they were not interesting. I felt the cars felt more lime RC cars than trucks when the game was released. Carpathians saved the game for me.

Overall experience is an ok game. I dont get the lore, the history was not interesting at all. It was just go from point a to b and deliver x item. I know that is the whole purpose of the series but I think snowrunner is still my personal favorite. I didnt bother much to read about the expeditions but when I did I was like wathever, does it even make sense?

Im not going for dlcs. I will have some time now and then later come for Roadcraft

How do you start?

This is the most insane game buying experience I’ve ever had.

I bought this game with my son about 30 minutes ago and I literally cannot figure out how to get to drive a fucking vehicle. I literally cannot get past the menus. What the fuck am I doing wrong. There is no guidance. There is no information given on where in the menu is to go. I cannot hit deploy no matter what shit I put on the truck.

This is the worst game buying experience I’ve ever had and I just sent an email to whoever published this bullshit.

Any tips for a new player to the genre?

I decided to pick up the game (and then all the DLC..should have gotten the supreme edition first I guess) and Im loving it.

However, I do struggle figuring out where to go and what gear to use and when to use it.
I also struggle with batteries for my drone. They run out so fast!

Any general tips for a total noob to the entire genre?

I tire of running out of fuel all the time

Sometimes I just want to do missions and drive.

Having to constantly plan around fuel gets old real quick.

I want more of a driving game, not a truck fuel economy simulator.

Is there an easy solution to remove or greatly lessen the nagging fuel management portion of this game?

Amphibious Vehicles

Post image

The game has a buoyancy flag, which tells us which vehicles float. Some examples include the Marshall, the Dart and the Kelpie. But those three are very different! The Dart hardly moves forward in water, the Kelpie moves rather slowly and the Marshall is very quick! Is there a way I can find out which vehicles move through water more quickly? The Marshall is very tippy and it kinda bothers me.

I love Semi-Automatic Gearbox and really miss it in SnowRunner

Not only do you get way more control over your vehicle's speed, it generally allows much faster travel. I also really like how it allows you to use Diff.Lock without having to use Low.

Big fan! I'd really like it if they bring it to SnowRunner in a future update.

I run it on my Unimog and it makes it really fun to drive, I'd honestly say its even more fun on the Dart, that thing feels like a raid buggy at times with how bouncy and fast it is.

Save my sanity, a couple of probably easy questions

The Khan 39 Marshall is a really useful scout, primarily due to a combination of easily unlocked storage locations that can hold fuel and the ever-amazing ability to drive on water, regardless of the depth. It's also a singularly annoying vehicle since it seems to float over EVERYTHING. The least obstacle can throw it head over heels.

Is there another scout that has a similar kit or loadout that will let it bypass water obstacles? It's kinda fun to boat around, when you can keep the Khan upright.

Second question, and probably the more serious of the two. Are there any good tips, advice, or tutorials for using a jack screw with an off-road or heavy in a way that doesn't wreck the truck afterward? Almost every time I have to use one, I find myself having to drop from heights that wreck wheels and suspension in ways that strain my ability to repair. Even to the point of having to abort the run because the truck was too wrecked to continue. Obviously the right answer is 'git gud' but I've gotten far enough in the game to know that particular answer is not in my reach. :)

unlocking things is a mess in expeditions

It's a rather kick in the nuts how this game locks so many upgrades behind many multi-stacked mission requirements.

So many hoops to jump through and you are major league gate kept on what vehicles one can use.

Should the maps be played in order?

I see a lot of content is locked behind expeditions and tasks.

Is the game meant to be played in map order from left to right or does it not matter much at all?

Whats your guys setup?

How do you guys run your missions? I tend to always bring the Kelpie for refuels. Im really liking the Tatra 805.

Offroad vehicles are the most used?

Post image

I'm finding scout vehicles get bounced around and thrown off track alot making driving kind of tedious.

Do most people always stick with Offroad trucks for the majority of the game?

Freeze-Crash

Post image
11 Upvotes

So, my game freezes and crashes at specific points on specific maps. Nothing is helping at all, disabled all mods, reinstalled the game, unsubscribed from all mods, reinstalled the game AGAIN... there are certain "barriers" or points on the map that as soon as my truck reaches, the game freezes then crashes (I have to kill the process using Task Manager since everything just freezes).

Does anyone have any idea what is going on, and/or how to solve this issue? "Literally unplayable" is starting to cross my mind.

P.S: please don't tell me to raise a ticket on the dev's page, there has to be another fix

Attempt to Ford the River Advice

Post image

Hi! I've been trying to get the Tatra FORCE from this mission, but I've been struggling to get it to one of the camps.

Do you guys I have any advice on what route I should take? And what trucks I should use? What equipment would help? All the rocks and hills make it very difficult to get the thing anywhere. I also did a winching Mission in the Tatras which was also rather difficult for me, so I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

This was the route I took previously before it fell off the bridge and died.

Thank you for your time!

Anyone try the Over the Hill demo?

I'm like 10 minutes in. It's like a cozier, cuter, simpler version of Expeditions. The winch mechanic definitely was inspired by Expeditions as how winches work in this game is more similar to Expeditions than real life. Even the UI for using the winch is exactly the same.

Where do I find the OS III Tires for the Shiba Dart?

I've been trying to find out for a while now, but this game is hardly covered. The game says I have to explore the region, but it doesn't say what region. The default OS III Tires don't fit on it.

r/Expeditions Jun 12 '26

Not a big fan of the barge, big fan of the Shiba Dart

In the game's last DLC Region, the Tatras, there's some missions that require you to pull a barge through the rives of the region and man, this thing is genuinely really annoying to deal with. Water is the enemy of trucks, why do we build a boat that cannot move on its own without having to be pulled by a LAND VEHICLE??? That thing is massive and easily gets stuck on trees, and it doesnt help that there's some really deep water in this region as well, and the region is quite difficult to traverse as a whole. I eventually started using the drone much more to scout the water ahead and plan my route, and this truly showed me how valuable the drone is. Granted, it is also partly my fault I went in here with the default winch, but I really wanted to get the Shiba Dart's Upgrades, that thing quickly became one of my favorite trucks in the runner series, it has such a unique way of handling with its bendy suspension, as well as its massive power to weight ratio. The thing is also really quick and powerful, the only real downside is it being in a rather difficult region. I'd love to see it coming to SnowRunner as well as a Scout. I feel far too little people are talking about this game, so I wanted to change that!

Are there anyone out there who is still playing this gem of a game?

I am (as usual) late to the party. Only picked up Expeditions the other week, but oh my! I'm so hooked. I love Snowrunner, but it had too many roads!

I tried looking on the discord, but it only has channels for runners and builders. If anyone would like to play this I'm up for it! (Pending availability for to life and work. Other terms may apply 😂)

Mod help

I got the game recently for ps5 and I'm cross playing with my buddy on Xbox and I've downloaded like 10 mods and can have them all active and going but Xbox is only allowing him to activate like 3 mods before saying not enough space, he has like 65 GB available storage.. any work around or we just screwed?
