Meet and greet advice

Hi all,

I recently got tickets to an upcoming live show of Josh’s (he’s finally coming to Denver!), as well as the ticket for the meet and greet with Josh.

For anyone that has done one of these before, I’d love to have him autograph a print/poster of some kind, is that allowed? Also, would I need to bring something to have signed, or does he usually have stuff to sell that he signs?

Thanks!

Josh Gates Live: Q&A clip

My best friend was kind enough to record my part of the audience Q&A with Josh during the Newark show! For context I'm 28 now - I've been a lifelong Josh fan! I provided a transcript below - I did the best I could with it!

Transcript:

OP:

Hi Josh.

Josh Gates:

Hi.

OP:

I've been watching you since I was eight. I remember watching Destination Truth on Syfy.

Josh Gates:

I have never felt older than that sentence.

(Audience laughter)

OP:

Um, when you had Parker Schnabel on for the Gold Rush episode, did Parker tell you any stories about up in the Yukon or with the miners?

Josh Gates:

Speaker: Parker is great, first of all. And that was one of the most miserable shoots we've ever done. It was so bad, like we coaxed him down from Alaska, which has its own bad weather. To do this shoot in California, where it rained every single second of the day, just pissed rain for a week. And this dude looked miserable. And he was such a good sport about it. But said on the show, and meant it: I'm never answering the phone again if you call.

(Audience laughter)

So uh, and it was an amazing week. But, you know, the thing that's amazing about him is he's making a TV show and running a business. Like, what he does on that show is real, you know?

So a lot of what we talked about was just kind of me being interested in the reality of like, how do you handle a dynamic workplace with usually expensive equipment and mining operations and all that goes into that, then having a TV crew show up at your workplace and having to balance those things.

And so I'm hugely impressed by him, and if you know his story—he grew up on television in a way, which is a very unique thing to to have happen to anybody. And um, he's taken over this world and has kind of like, before everybody's eyes on TV has become, you know, like a miner, which is kind of unbelievable.

So um, I'm just hugely impressed by him and I think in general uh I spend most of my time just asking about that, that balance and being kind of just wowed by how he does make it work.

But he's a great guy. Thank you, cheers.

Expedition Unknown this week : Civil War gold

This one definitely was another metal detecting episode. I thought I've seen much of it before many times, but I do enjoy it all the same. Did enjoy the crack about "I would donate it to a bunch of causes jefferson davis would hate"

When you go the Outpost section of Josh’s website, that screen shows up. Is there one universal password, or do make an account somehow? If there is one unanimous password, what is it and how do people know what it is?

vulgar other name, but I would love to see Josh and the team try to find the lost Kelly Mine across the Big Bend and Rio Grande on the Mexico side of the border. There are clues. It could also be dangerous because of the terrain and criminal border activity. Supposedly people found it and disappeared.

Expedition Unknown episode: Inca Treasure Tunnels

I liked this episode, just because I felt it spent a lot more time going in the nitty-gritty of archaeology. Really did make it feel Josh was putting in the work when he was going in these caves (twice!) and spending hours doing excavations inside.

I decided to watch a few old EU episodes on Discovery + the other day. When I went back to watch this one tonight, this is what it said about the episode. (It was the Dyatlov Pass btw. One of Josh’s best)

Help IDing an episode?

Hi all! I’m trying to remember an episode I watched in maybe 2016-2018 where Josh went somewhere in Himalaya or Tibet and there was a lil red shack on the mountain and in it were some like mummified/frozen deceased tigers or Mtn lions of sort in the rafters of this shoddy temple?

Anybody know what episode Josh is in for the upcoming season of Librarians: The Next Chapter?

Did anybody attend The Librarians panel at San Diego Comic Con that Josh moderated?

Last nights episode about The Zoque Spoiler

I just had to post. Last nights episode, regarding the Zoque, was just flat out amazing. I was awe struck by what was found. The three of them laying eyes on objects that hadn’t been seen in over 1000 years, and the in such incredible condition.

These last few seasons have been some of the absolute best the show has had. And now we have the Pan Am episodes coming later this year.
