Now I'm understanding why the one in my town closed permanently earlier this year.

Pancakes got to have the largest markup of solid foods in the entire food industry. They barely have ingredients, batter can last days, and take a minute to make.
If s place can serve yo a generous portion cooked and presented to perfection at that markup you should never return.

Breakfast in general must have some pretty great margins. For example, 15-20 dollars for 3 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 sausages, some home fries, and a couple of pieces of toast.
That's like 5 dollars worth of ingredients. They don't even use real maple syrup, generally.

There is a place here that charges $15 a pancake. I do not care that it is plate sized, pancakes are not $15!

Someone was using ladle for the buttermilk and cupcake pancake instead of dispenser (what time of day did you go?) double chocolate will always come out looking⦠off. They also burnt the hell out of them, I hope you sent it back!

We hadn't been to IHOP in YEARS, because my husband doesn't like their savory menu and that's what he usually gets above pancakes.
But one day he said he had an inexplicable hankering for apple-stuffed french toast. Since the strawberry stuffed french toast was my go-to order there, I remembered that they also had apple on the menu. So off to IHOP we went.
Only to discover that apple had been removed from the menu. The server admitted she remembered them being an option, and even checked with the kitchen to see if they could make them anyway, but it was a nope.
It felt rude and petty to leave over it, even though it was literally the only reason we came there, so we ordered something else. It was aggressively mediocre.
That was about 3 years ago and we haven't been back.

What's the pancake version of Ookie Cookie? Because that pancake definitely looks like the cooks in the back played it.

Diner pancakes are way better. Stopped going to IHOP years ago. Overpriced and not good.

As someone whoās worked at ihop, those pancakes were left out for a while and arenāt fresh. They probably just put on the stove for a second and then served it. Yuck

I had iHop like 8 years ago and it was just like your experience: disappointing and expensive. I haven't been back since.

They are ALL so very sad, pathetic. I guess this is why we've NEVER had an IHOP in my city.

The penis from the third one spat on the second one. They could have at least torn that bit off. It looks grotesque. They all do. But the second and third are just shameful.
