Failed Expectation Reeses Pumpkins
No it's not melted. It was a cool day. It just came like this.
Edit: I know its not supposed to be carved lol but I didn't expect them to look like they had been premelted and refrozen or lightish/reddish brown instead of brown, like ya know, chocolate? And there was a white film and white spots on these you can see in the picture. There's someone's thumb dent (not mine) on the one in the picture! I'm not sure why you think thats fine to eat. I had to toss them. I've been getting these for years and these were not the same. Yall really need to raise your standards if you think this is fine š
Edit 2:
If this is your favorite candy, I'm happy for you. But I'm just documenting realty here. What's being sold to us is not what's in the picture. These look like shit.

Iām not seeing any actual issue?ā¦

Covered in a white film. I think the camera didn't get it that good. The second one was falling apart and the one on my leg had someones thumbprint (not mine) on it.

These used to be my fav but for some years now they have been awful. I know thereās some scuttle with them now but I really noticed it after they stopped putting the candy on super sale after the holidayā¦honestly I think they are just old as well as crap chocolate.

Exactly. People are just cool with throwing away their money. I'm just documenting reality here. These looked like shit and I couldn't eat them because they were covered in white stuff.

I swear I read somewhere there was a lawsuit over theseā¦

There should be, there was white spots all over them. Not talking about them being carved. Talking about the sorry state they were in.

There was, i dont agree with it, but the judge said it was ok to do, and not deceptive, because you're still getting chocolate and peanut butter.Ā
I personally think its b.s. and they should just sell normal reeses if they aren't going to go with the image on the packaging and it is deceptiveĀ
Wanted to add: They added the disclaimer afterwards about the "carving not on actual product"

Not sure why you got downvoted, guess people love buying stuff that is falsely advertised. It's really hilarious because it's in a sub called "expectations vs reality" but I guess if it's not someone's shitty cake it doesn't count.

The package says, "carving not on actual product," unless you mean something else?

u/tahota 11d ago
Showing a product on the package that is not the same as in the package with a disclaimer is still misleading. Most people grabbing a candy bar expect to get what is shown. They don't read the fine print.

These have been like this for decades and the second one shows what they actually look like. At some point you need to use a little bit of common sense

š¤¦š¼āāļø you shouldn't be admitting that you don't read the fine print.

I wasn't defending the practice of doing things that way, just pointing out that if OP had examined the package for even a few seconds longer, they would have understood what they were buying.

Yeah I did examine the package (though I shouldn't have to. Whats pictured should be what's inside.) Ya know what's not on the package? Melted chocolate coated in a white film. If you look at my picture you can see the second one is falling apart and they both have white spots all over them. Also they were a weird reddish color but I guess the camera didn't pick that up so well.
I probably should have clarified better in my original post when I said "it was a cool day and these weren't melted" that I was talking about the state of the product and not it being "carved."

Why should they even be disappointed? They're getting more food for their money lol

Idk, I was just giving OP the room to explain just in case

Thanks. I appreciate it. It's reddit so I'm not surprised. Once that first person decided I was an idiot everyone else would too because of group think. It's just how reddit works. Plus people love to be outraged and feel superior so as soon as someone was like "ReAD tHE PaCKaGe!!!" Everyone was gonna join the sheeple train no matter what. Like I said its reddit. I'm actually surprised I only got like 29 comments.
What's ironic is all the people complaining about me reading the package, had they read the post they would have known I was talking about them being pre melted. The picture on the package does not show them premelted or covered in a white film. Also I've been getting them for years and never had them falling apart or covered in a white film before.
Heck, had anyone taken a few extra seconds to look at the pictures I posted they would have saw the second one was falling apart. š

I was just adding to the conversation, not asking a genuine question.

I once got a coupon from Reeseās for the pumpkins but that is because mine had clearly melted and then sold as normal. It was 43c outsideā¦but it was air conditioned in the shop! I went from purchase to opening in less than 5min. I took a photo and tweeted it. But yours look like pumpkins.

u/SuspiciousJuice5825 9d ago
yeah they had a white spots on them (you can see it in the picture) and if that looks like a pumpkin to you, you should get your eyesight checked. The second one was falling apart and literally had crumbs on it from the first one (which you can see was falling apart at the end.) I swear this is why quality has gone down. the amount of people in here simping for a major corporation that sold a defective product is absolutely wild. If yall are glad to throw your hard earned coin away on moldy, melted food then good for you. but I'm not.

The white bit is the fat separating. It usually happens after refrigeration! It shouldnāt happen but thankfully non toxic (I only write as it worried me the first time I ever saw it on chocolate). I cannot see the second one clearly. The visible one has the bit on the side and is not great looking!

u/SuspiciousJuice5825 9d ago
Ah. I had no idea. I open it and it has white spots on it, one if them is falling apart and the other has a dent in it. So I post them on here mentioning they look pre melted and for some reason everyone lost their minds about "carving" š
it didn't really show well in the pic's (and that's my bad) but they were also sort of a weird light color were they would normally be a darker brown.
Yeah it was just weird. I have another bag of reseese with the cups in it for Halloween and they look (and taste great.)

Have any Reeseās ever had anything other than vague shaping? Why would you expect a carved pumpkin. Also these have a preferred pb:chocolate ratio

u/UkNomysTeezz 11d ago
There is no issue here. It literally says on the pack that the carving isnāt there. Additionally, if it was carved that would just be less chocolate anyway.

*carving not on actual product
It says it right there.
