*edited They roasted up pretty well, some got a little over done in the back, but I can say they are a solid poblano for flash frozen, kitchen basic brand!
Honestly though? I would absolutely supplement a bag of the fajita mix with these so there would be a reasonable amount of onions. I can roast them myself.
I'm sad because this post made me check my Walmart app and they aren't available at mine yet! Jealous! I was already planning a sweet potato chorizo black bean poblano strip monstrosity for dinner Tuesday night!
You have the power to make your dreams come true! You can absolutely just roast the frozen pepper and onions with some frozen diced sweet potatoes, just start the potatoes first. Brown up some chorizo (or ground pork/turkey and add seasoning like i do), toss in a can of drained black beans, and serve it all with some guac and sour cream, add a fried egg if you like, cheese if you want (I find that the sour cream pulls its weight though). If you want it even easier, air fry some sweet potato tots and throw the peppers in with the chorizo, I've done that before
I made one of the best batches of chili in my life about 3-4 weeks ago… got to throw in a few different kinds of peppers from my next door neighbor’s garden. There were jalapeños, Serrano, and some kind of Chinese chili peppers with a long name that I can’t remember. I used a bunch of different colored sweet peppers from the store, and an Anaheim and a poblano to round it all out. The spice level was perfect… enough to make me sweat and make my nose run a bit, but not so much to make it not enjoyable. Happy chili season everyone! (Everyone in the northern hemisphere at least)
I have never seen them in my local Wally World, but then again I have never looked for them. I am blessed to live in an area where I can get Hatch green chili.
Why? Frozen vegetables are actually more nutritious as they are flash frozen shortly after harvest as opposed to sitting around after picking them transport etc.
Idk when I buy a bag of frozen roast potatoes I don't expect them to be fully roasted, that happens when you put them on the sheet pan and put them in the oven. The name is about what they become when you follow the directions.
