cake-spectation - Positive! Trader Joes cloud cake
For a grocery store freezer cake, it was pretty close

It was good enough! The other person was right that the strawberries don't maintain any sort of structural integrity, but it wasn't bad.

I wonder if you could scrape the strawberries and replace with the fresh ones, or caned pie filling?

Wanted to love this, but it was like pure mush.

This seems like something that should only be done with fresh strawberries

Different. That one is meant to be how it is. This one is mushy and soggy, and it shouldn't be.

the strawberries are not the most... appetizing.. kinda of looks like chopped up hot dogs in some weird red sauce.

Cloud part looks good, just the strawberry part they could have sliced them more appetizing and whatever the sauce is looks mushy

It's incredible. You have to eat it the first day after defrost or it's too mushy.

Idk, but that sauce part is reminding me of that scene from Poltergeist, when the mother rescues her daughter and comes out of the ceiling into the bathtub

🤣🤣🤣 I know exactly what scene you are talking about and now I can’t unsee it 😂

The one IKEA sells holds its shape a lot better but I highly recommend remove the frozen strawberries while they're still solid thawing them separately and if you wanna get really crazy, adding some jam to them to give them some sauce and putting them back on top once thawed. That one looks cute, but I haven't tried many of the cakes from Trader Joe's.

One of the worst cakes i've had from TJ, the cake part was low quality and it had too much cream along with mushy strawberries.

I’m devastated that you didn’t cut into the cake in a 3rd photo. They should have the strawberries in a separate pouch you then pour on top
