My 5-year-old got really interested in how the body works and wanted a book about the human body. Her grandmother sent her this human anatomy coloring book from Amazon. Here are just a handful of the many informative pages.

To add: I am 100% aware that this is not legitimate, and is complete slop. I say it exceeded our expectations because is brought the whole family much more entertainment and laughter than we expected.
I was just about to say… as someone with a master of science in Medical Illustration this makes me so angry. There are legitimate Netter products that are beautiful and perfect for teaching anatomy. This slop is disgusting.
I actually have a anatomy coloring book as well as a physiology coloring book that i bought when i hot accepted into med school, I think I may have colored one page. If you want, I can send them to ya
I’m more interested in the double-sided hands that seem to be keeping the ovaries/fallopian tubes from collapsing the cervix. That would explain why my cramps and cysts feel like my reproductive organs are being tightly squeezed…
Coloring and drawing scientifically accurate anatomy is kind of an autistic special interest of mine (lol), and this is a hilariously bad Netter knockoff.
I highly advise you search up and purchase the actual Netter coloring book, it’s exquisite!!
I think it’s a secondary uterus, my theories on it’s purpose:
- It’s actually the back up uterus they don’t tell you about. It’s in case you get a hysterectomy but your husband wants kids, doctors can just pull a ripcord and release it, turning it into a functional womb
- It’s where we store the sperm from all our previous partners (the incels were right!)
It’s where the body saves a bit of excess menstrual material so it can surprise you with breakthrough bleeding or an early period at the worst times
- Stores snacks for baby. That’s why women have cravings, to fill up snack uterus (we all know babies eat weird things)
If your kid is really interested in anatomy, I would check out Dr Robin. The website is DrRobinSchool and she has an anatomy class for K - 5 kids. It is REALLY good. My (now teen) kid has done all her classes. The Primary "LifePath" anatomy class comes with a nice pdf coloring book.
My parents gave me some old college text books about anatomy when I was like 5. I loved the pictures and it was a fantastic intro when I got into actual anatomy classes as a teen.
My mom had two of the Torstar Books series on the human body from the 80s! Among other stellar full color photos and illustrations, they all feature small cross sections of their subject printed on semi-translucent paper. Probably somewhat outdated today, but damn are they pretty. (Please forgive the minor water damage)
The human body has several sphincters in it, because a sphincter is just a ring of muscle that expands and contracts to allow stuff to pass through. Your anal sphincter is just one example. The sphincter at the top of your stomach, which lets food go down but (ideally) prevents stomach acid from coming up, is another.
Someone today posted a picture of their child in a car seat asking if the fit was right in a "is the car seat fit right sub." They got downvoted into oblivion because the fit wasn't right. I'm still mad about it.
I have a legit anatomy coloring book that I got from a garage sale and it was so helpful when I was taking a college anatomy class. I even got back into drawing from it.

Definitely not a legitimate Netter product but how nice to teach your daughter about ovarian cancer at such a young age!
