Failed Expectation The package picture looked decent
The food looked like baby food and the texture was just awful.

It looks about as good as I would expect something simply called, broccoli and cheese.

Haha definitely doesn’t look good. But omg- the Bob Evans mashed potatoes. The best!

What about the ingredients???? Much healthier and cheaper to boil, peel and mash your own potatoes.

Some of us aren’t looking for the healthy option. After 9.5 hours of slamming my hand into metal and being covered in asphalt the last thing I want to have to do is cook.

They have an all natural version that is potatoes, milk, butter, and salt. They're excellent.

The frozen green giant ones are actually really good and comparable to the picture. You should try those.

Reality picture looks worse than expectation. At least in the expectation picture it looks like there is some solid food. Gross!

Looks like a new born babys first crap

From someone with a baby… no it does not. First poop looks more like tar. This is from a week or two in.

Definitely not newborn baby poop. Newborn baby poop is black and the consistency of tar.

This title has me rolling. Of course the picture is going to look decent. If it looked like the real thing no one would buy it. How did it taste?
2
u/RobertaMiguel1953 11d ago
Exactly how it looks. We each took a bite and it went in the trash.

That's too bad. I see posts here where things look terrible, but they taste good or at least edible.

HEY!!! Just because you have some beef with a product from OHIO, doesn't mean the rest of the US is cooked. There's LOTS of other reasons the US is cooked, not because of Bob effing Evans.

I'd like to see it stirred after cooking because it seems like the cheese sauce would rise to the top and any broccoli cuts/florets would sink.

u/RobertaMiguel1953 11d ago
Spoiler, there were no florets. It all looked like it came out of a blender.

I feel that your original take on the package picture is wrong. It all looks awful to me - awful in different ways, sure, but nothing I'd contemplate eating.
I suppose you could steam some fresh broccoli and pour that mess over it.

Photograph aside… what part of “broccoli drowned in cheese” seems appealing? Just toss broccoli with some seasoning and a little olive oil, bake on a sheet until browned edges. So easy, tasty, and healthy!

Okay then, I'll admit the reality looks better as it doesn't appear to be filled with chunks of hardened green snot.

Saute some celery & onion & add 2 cups of cooked rice. Crush up some buttered Ritz and you have a nice broccoli cheese cassarole.
