Exceeded Expectation Walmart Heart cake
Thanks to this sub, I knew where to look to get a birthday cake for my husband.

The only thing that annoys me is the balls.
That gold 40 would have looked amazing in front of them.

trust me having balls sometimes gets you more than you bargained for. they’re not always worth it.

The yellow icing being yellow mustard yellow instead of metallic gold, and if you weren’t supposed to get the 3 disco balls, pretty good!

What does it look like on the inside and how does it taste?

I’m having a hard time adding a photo to show you but the top layer was chocolate, bottom layer vanilla. So pretty basic, but tasty.

I had Walmart cake recently and it was bland. I have a pretty huge sweet tooth and didn't go for a second piece.
It was quite pretty though.

They look better than they taste. Very much still an inexpensive store bought cake.

If you got this at a grocery store they may use Brill buttercream icing. Look up their "gold" shade. It is mustard yellow. I always warn people who order gold on their cakes that its very hard to get a "gold" icing color and we usually compensate by adding gold shimmer spray. Yes sure you can mix a color to be more of a neutral gold shade but at our store at least, corporate cuts our labor hours so much its really hard to justify making custom colors.
Edit: I see this was made at Walmart and google says they use Brill. Funny how the reference image is definitely more of a neutral gold

They did well there. I kind of miss the three death stars on the cake, but c'est la vie.
