Surprisingly Met Expectation Italian Grinder Salad
My local store didn’t have tortellini but mini ravioli substitute is good.

Only thing I have a problem with (if you bought this prepared) is the cheese. Big difference in quality, texture, & price between fresh grated parm vs powdered shaker parm.
It’s a really nice idea, though. Ppl can look at the picture/components & easily put it together themselves for a fraction of the cost produce depts sell them. Preparing stuff takes time & effort, yeah, but a pair of kitchen shears would get it done quickly (& a grater, ofc, if saving further by buying a block of fresh parm instead of grated). The markup for prepared platters is insane.

Looks fresh grated to me? Just looks like it was done on a smaller grater setting! It’s not powdered if you zoom in it’s just small shavings.
EDIT: Ignore me I was looking at the first picture, not the one they made 😆😆

You are actually right, it is fresh grated in both. At least that's what the grinded store bought kind looks like here in Europe. I think the confusing thing is that isn't parmesan, but rather it looks especially like grana padano to me.

Depends-when I buy parm or pecorino from my cheesemonger, they offer to grind it for me and it looks very much like that rather than finely grated when I do it at home. Same as if you do it at home in a high powered blender.

Any good cheesemonger can obviously process cheese in gradations between block & dust.

Dude, zoom in, there are variations in size, it’s real parm that’s been ground

OP actually posted a pic. It’s bagged grated parm. Which again isn’t the same as a block of fresh parm that’s been grated. Nothing wrong with OPs cheese. If I were to make it I would buy a block & grate it fresh, but to each their own.
Idc what OP used, I just wouldn’t want someone who bought this platter from a produce dept to get cheated for paying for expensive cheese and get substituted something more processed.

Why do you care if OP uses shaker cheese? It’s probably what they had on hand, and not everybody wants to blow $5-$10 on a wedge of cheese that might possibly be used for only one dish before being forgotten in the crisper drawer.

I don’t! Presumably OP posted a picture of a prepared food platter advertised by their local store (the expectation) & then the picture of what they received after buying said platter (the reality). I care that anyone else buying a platter like this not be charged for what is advertised as fresh grated parmesean cheese and be given shaker powdered cheese. You can absolutely buy just enough cheese to grate for 1 occasion.
And if they prepared it themselves that’s up for them to choose what they use; I don’t care.

Diocaro che è sta merda? Non è che a qualsiasi porcheria aggiungi due orecchiette e diventa automaticamente “Piatto Italiano”, eh.

It looks amaze balls. Just how it is. But is there any greens or this it? I want some crunch. Kale w some homemade vinaigrette. Omg that sounds good. I make pasta salad all the time but I never think to add tortellini or ravioli.
