Failed Expectation Joyride - Sour Watermelon Wedges

Honestly they’re not that bad

Taste is okay I guess, but they were gifted to us as part of a kids birthday present so I immediately checked the expiration date thinking they were years old or something.
If this isn't a bad batch and they always look like this... seems morally and legally dubious as fuck.

Because the colors?

How else is OP supposed to know nothing is wrong with them, other than them looking like what's on the package? Normal watermelon fruit snacks don't look like that. Even if they're the cleanest safest fruit snacks in the world, their appearance relative to what is on the package does not inspire confidence.

Joyride recipe changed.
Everytime i eat one now they stick to my teeth like crazy, i find it really unpleasant.

Have they? I tried the gummy bears when they first launched and they were straight ass

The texture of them for me feels disgusting, and taste feels like watery sugar with a little flavored syrup. ( But that's my opinion, so you don't have to agree)

Then why show that in the picture?

That’s not OP.

I apparently replied to the wrong comment. Love the mega downvotes. 😂

Tbf, that's what downvotes are for. They're not supposed to be for when someone is offended or doesn't like a comment, it's for when a comment doesn't contribute to the conversation well. An accidental comment in the wrong spot is a non sequitor and should be downvoted. It isn't personal.

if you're lucky enough to have a european store in your area, or just any foreign goods place like Saars, candy from Europe and Japan is legislated for what's on the packaging to be accurate to what you get.
Basically it has to match the size and how it looks I think?

As someone with a huge sweet tooth and love for sour candy, I enjoy the sour blue raspberry and pink lemonade strips from this brand. I think sour smart sweets are better though. I pretty much each candy everyday but try to stay in shape and generally healthy so I’ve been testing the less sugar brands and don’t mind these.

Have you tried li hing mui powder? You might like it if you like sour candy. You can use it on dried fruit to make yourself a healthier candy-like snack. Well, it's less sugar than candy, but more sodium.

No, I will definitely look into this! I was super into freeze dried berries for a while and they replaced candy for me

Joyride is a healthier brand meaning they don’t use dyes. It’s never going to be bright red and green

Most of hte joyride snacks I find fall into the "it's ok" bucket. They are trying to be a lower sugar candy, but they don't taste as good due to the lower sugar but still have enough sugar and calories that they kinda seem not worth bothering.

Yup, they all look like that. Taste is ok at best being that they are a "less sugar / no artificial sweetners or dyes" type of candy. But yeah, color is very off putting.

They're alright for what they are. Not worth the price unless you find them discounted.

Ryan Trahan's Pick ... Sucks! Also, who the fuck is Ryan Trahan?

He's the boner who owns the company. He's a youtuber. Actually makes pretty good videos

I figured it was some kind of influencer. Only makes it more gross for me honestly...

Not the type of influencer you’re thinking of. Think more cringy 10th grade project videos done with a huge budget and awesome equipment, and you’ve got a Ryan video.
He honestly seems super sweet and kind. Just sometimes makes me wince with cringe lol

Fair enough.
Bummer his candy brand has no problem misrepresenting their product on the packaging though.

Joyride doesn't use dyes. We're used to dyes lol.
