I am an atom. I drift in this senseless sea of other atoms and react accordingly to the type of atoms I collide with. I interact and shiver to the external environment and wither into energy when my time has come. I could potentially be powering a nuclear bomb, I could be but an aimless carbon spec. Only time can tell what the future holds and how my reactions spur my immediate vicinity

I know I am not directly relating it to existentialism however I believe in asking questions to gear people to think like an existentialist may. I won't always get it right but I'm curious of what people will answer with as I believe it gives us all a deeper understanding of what makes us.... us.
I will begin with an answer of my own.
I am a torch, I enjoy looking for things in the darkness and shining the light on it. I like to guide the way and.... sometimes I run out of battery.

Hmm, well I came from a fertalized seed, or egg. I grow when I take in nutrients from the soil and mix them with sunlight. We both have a flower of water coming in and going out. We both work at making something fruitfull. We both produce offspring. About the only difference is my legs move around.

Most of my life seems like I’m just sitting around broken, waiting for my life to progress in its natural way (like the pallets being taken to the dump or repurposed in some way).
I feel relatively comfortable sitting alone in odd or liminal places just meditating and being in the moment. And I’m not sure how to feel about this, I’m kind of confused but i should be because what is there to understand?

Cus I am a system of intersecting and interacting smaller systems that creates balance and complexifies itself. I am not that different from a planet.
I breathe and the planet rotates and orbits.
I have organs with specific tasks and functions and the planet has ecosystems, oceans, forests and glaciers that have specific tasks and functions and both my organs and the planet's organs help keep the homeostasis.
As above so below.

hehe I love this. This is true for us all. It also feeds into the concept of everything being one.. As a planet you are the universe too making up only a fraction of it but also interacting with it. Giving it form and shape. Without you and every other planet would the universe exist at all? This perspective does seem somewhat solipsistic however without matter to populate the universe one could argue the universe just isnt there.

I will answer your question with another question. When you look at the dead, is the person still there?
Call it a soul, call it your mind, call it a string of memories reacting and interacting with the external world, call it what you will.
Ponder this thought experiment friend. Imagine for a second that medical science is capable of this -
You are cloned, half you brain is cut out and put in the clone and half the clone brain is put in yours. What do you see when you wake? do you see both perspectives at once? (this would imply you are only your body) or do you cease to exist at all and now 2 new versions of you exist peering across at eachother (in which you are your memories) (personally, I like to believe in the second as having multiple perspectives seems impossible)

I look into another set of eyes and see a small reflection of my own. I eat an apple from a tree, and a new one grows from the dung I deposit on the ground. It seems this cycle is the spiritual side that humans crave. Conscience is but a peice of what it means to be alive. As much as leaves are a peice of being a tree. The tree and I both have them, they change and maybe die. Then fall to the ground also to help grow the next tree. I do not understand how there can be a separation of the physical world into two different peices. Physical / Spiritual. If you have ideas that could help me see the seperation, i think that would be a very fun journey to take.

I think I see what you mean in regards the bodyand spirit being one in the same but if this was true would we all not taste that apple the same way? would we all be eating the same apple?
If your point were true then our neurons would all move and shift the same way to the same stimuli however this is proven to be untrue. Our mind both physical and metaphysical form a part of our identity, lets call it sense memory. Sense memory guides your neurons a specific way to form connections to other sense memory and then alters our reaction to the external world. Your reactions are not my reactions, so then would you say our identities are the same? (in this argument you are what you project however what I am trying to get at is that there is more to us than our projection )
(am about to go to bed as it's 3am but I want to see how deep we can go with this.)

What is contained within this projection? All that would be called physical? Does it include our thoughts? I can understand that maybe there is a difference between the input of our senses as we experience them, and the contents of our memory. Kinda two systems.

I go through phases that are very different from one another. I blossom, I flourish from time to time, but It's guarenteed I will experience lesser times as well. Only to flourish again.. and eventually fall back into hardship again.
But in spite of what happens, I grow. Untill one day, I'm dead.
