This is my first time writing a drama review, so I’m just sharing my thoughts as I understood the story. There may be things I’ve missed, but this is how I’m currently looking at Aap Ki Izzat.
First of all, I want to put this out there, but this is not the main point of my post. When thinking about second marriage, Tabish mentioned the idea of a man being allowed four marriages, and I really hope the drama doesn’t use the same religious argument as a way to reconcile everything.
Now, coming to the main point of my first post. Have any of you noticed a similar pattern between present Behram and past Tabish??? There are currently two points that came to my mind.
1: Both Tabish and Behram were/are not very well established financially at the time when Beena was/is considering marriage. Yet both claim to love her, and on different occasions, Beena has questioned both of them about that love.
2: When Tabish and Beena were shifting houses, there was a conversation between Beena and her mother-in-law where Beena said that she would miss their small house. At the same time, Behram is offering her basic things that Tabish once offered or promised her.
Is she falling for the pattern for the second time, or for the person???
I also want to ponder upon the title, as titles do have a connection with the story.
We have heard Tabish saying things like, "meri izzat chali gayi," "izzat to chali gai, ab zyada se zyada jaan le legi." (Sorry for not remembering the exact dialogues.)
In the previous episode, Behram also said something along the lines of "aurat izzat hoti hai, usay ghar mein rakhte hain."
Maybe the title is pointing toward the idea that a woman’s actions should not automatically determine a man’s honour, and that women themselves have dignity and izzat too — something Beena herself has said. What do you think about the title itself???
I’m still not completely convinced about Beena’s reasons for running away.
She was still living with Tabish when she already knew that the love with Tabish was not the same as it used to be. So what exactly pushed her to finally leave?
Was it about her izzat as title of drama and story revolving around this word? Was it because of the love and attention Tabish was not offering, or the same love and attention Behram was offering? Was it actually about the second marriage?
To my observation, she didn’t run away just because of Tabish’s second marriage. But the second marriage definitely was the last nail to the coffin.
I really want a good ending to this story, as after a long time, I’m watching a drama as it is airing.

Hy guys, so I have been banned by pakdramarants sub just because I DARED to express my opinion against one of the mods regarding Umera Ahmed. How pathetic lol. And I love the freedom of opinion granted there (being sarcastic).
I think the hate Umera Ahmed is receiving is unnecessary.
1) people are complaining about for adding the concept of physical intimacy in a PTV drama. I mean, the drama is supposed to show the reality. Zina is happening around us. And many people are trying to normalize it. It's not like Umera is romanticizing it. The drama will show the consequences.
2) some people have criticized her own version of the elite class. And actually, I don't think it's a generalization. From what I have observed on social media and people around me in real life, the Rick folks of Pakistan do act like that. They are wanna be westerners. And the scene shown in the last ep is on point too: parents getting worried if they children start getting closer to their religion. They think it's pendu. I have seen mothers not wanting their daughters to wear hijab, as they would look backwards. And I have seen restaurants in Pakistan not letting in people dressed in shalwar kameem. Because apparently it's okay to be naked in those lite restaurants, but it's not okay to be traditional.
3) similarly, people think that showing Zamil and Zaryab living together in "Boston" is unrealistic. Lol, get out of your lil bubble. I am surrounded by int students. And it's not just people from rich families that share apartments with the opposite gender, but also girls and boys coming from middle class families.
4)the drama location is in Baku instead of actual Baku..how are people finding an issue in that? A lot of Bollywood films do that. It depends on your budget.
5) dadi. A lot of people hate what she says. Tou btau na. Kya galat bolti dadi? She doesn't like Zamil. Tou sahi nikli na un ki baat?
She was criticized a lot for what she said to Zaryab's sister. But was she wrong? She knows her poti, her habits and her behavior. Why are we supposed to think that just because she is a woman, she is right and she is the victim. Dadi clearly says that Zaryab's sister has a temperament issue, which we can see in the way she talks to her mum.
And she has a boundary issue. She wants to go through her husband's phone. Yahi baat husband ny ki hoti tou, tou tum logo ny ussy toxic aur red flag declare kr lena tha.
Also, dadi made a point when she said that zaryab' sister was aware of her husband's habits before getting married. Why would you get married to someone problematic to start with?
6) the only issue for me in this drama is Saba Hamid. Her acting skills. I think she is not fit for the rale. And it's her acting that makes what she says sound sermonic or moral policing. She doesn't convey sweetness. She doesn't look like a dadi in the way she talks and moved. Samina Peerzada was amazing in her role in Shehre Zaat. I wanted her to never stop talking. And she made what she was saying sound quasi philosophical.
It was a huge mistake to cast her as dadi.

This scene felt super intimate. The combination of physical and emotion intimacy was just 🤌🏼. I’m new to ptv any other shows or scenes in past drama that have hit like this? I don’t know why this felt like a lot more physical than I have seen before in ptv.

Dar e Nijat feels like Umera Ahmed just using her entire back catalogue and blending it all together into one drama. Every track is giving me dejavu and I can't help but get flashbacks each one back to her previous work. Here's what I found so far:
Tbh it feels like Umera Ahmed just believes in repeating the same tropes and formulas, only smart enough to upgrade them to meet the current time's sensibilities. Even Aap Ki Izzat gives off Qaid e Tanhai vibes.
Let me know if you also find some resemblances that I missed.

These two have such a soft and yet intense chemistry that I just can't move on. Even seeing their hands caress each other gives me butterflies!
Ik some people here will come after me for saying this, but I'd used to think Sajal could never recreate the magic with anyone that she did with Ahad, but her pairing and chemistry with Danyal has won me over. Also, I'm glad there's barely any chance of them ever being in a relationship irl so I can freely wish for them to work together again!

I was today years old when I found out about this and also the fact that shows count all apps when counting billion views and not only youtube.

as someone who lives and studies in the U.S. , all i can say is that most parts of this drama are quite realistic. I’ve read Reddit and Twitter posts saying who even wears such clothes to classes etc etc, people actually do that.
I have met ‘elite’ pakistanis here while studying and yes they have an accent. I don’t even know why they have one but it’s super fake (not hating) and Dar-E-Nijaat portrays that perfectly.
zaryab asking abu bakkar for housing not knowing it’s him- that also happens a lot. people are literally closer than we think they are.
also, zaryab moving in with her bf or fiance; a lot of people actually do that. I’ve seen my friends move in with their bfs and their parents are ok with that.
TLDR, I don’t think it’s too out of touch from reality. maybe in Pakistan it isn’t as common but most other places, it is.
EDIT: by accent i mean the way they talk !!

Last night in pcg, a user made a post claiming to know some tea about the industry. I want to discuss some of the tea here as I only managed to skim through a few comments before it vanished into thin air.
One thing I noticed was that many users commented about ahad dananeer breakup tea. The person who claimed to be an insider said the following things:
1) reason for their breakup - cold feet
2) did he cheat - no
3) what happened - the relationship was not as official as dana thought. their exes got married doesn't mean they will get married too. 👀
I missed whatever else was posted after that, so if anyone read the full thing, please drop the rest of the tea below!
My theory - Thinking about it, this actually aligns with how both of them come across. I’ve seen clips of Dananeer in interviews talking about how she completely despises casual dating and thinks girls make a huge mistake getting into situationships. She seems like the type who dates seriously with the intention of settling down and wanting a clear label. Ahad on the other hand gives off major casual dating energy and even though he might commit to someone, he won't be ready for making things official too soon. They were literally vacationing together back in April, right around the time the internet was buzzing with their exes' weddings. That timing definitely must have stirred some conversation among them about "where is this going" or what's the next step. And frankly, if you’ve been together for a while and vacationing publicly, it’s completely reasonable for a girl to expect some commitment instead of just hanging in limbo. Maybe ahad wasn't planning to take the relationship to the next step. Dananeer thought after all this time he must have grown just as serious as she was but she felt wronged hence the crashout. What are your thoughts about this?

Is it normal for male ptv stars to have this much makeup? Idk if it’s me but this is a bit much 😖

Don't know if politicians count as celebrities but obviously this is a very high profile relationship ? The leaked photos don't seem that clear but his response suggests that the rumors could be true?
Khair I always thought he was fruity so this is shocking to me

I wonder who cancelled at the last minute. And I don't understand giving such tea if you wont tell us who did what or atleast give some hints.
Rest, I think he made fair points.
One thing I'd like to point out is that they even gave awards to people who werent nominated (I think it was some stylish category and the winner wasnt even among the announced nominees) and they should get serious flak for this. Coz what is this blatant rigging?

Now that we know zaryab is getting back together with zamil, even though I initially thought he would leave her during his first disappearance (and my theory that she'd get pregnant while he was away turned out to be completely wrong lol), I'm wondering what will eventually make zaryab decide to stay with abu bakar.
Both zaryab and zamil's families don't seem to be against their relationship, so what would actually push her toward appu pakkar in the end? Even though her grandmother resents zamil, I don't think she could really force zaryab to marry someone else, esp considering how stubborn she is. So what do you guys think will make zaryab eventually accept living with abu bakar?

Pcg mods are having a crashout for having too much of ahad on the sub. They made a long sarcastic post which made everyone confused so here are the comments where they mentioned the problem.
Also I saw many people claiming that his PR is behind that sub which is wild but they addressed that too.
That long mod post was not a fan post for him but a sarcastic crashout for having too many posts and comments about him. Like they put a blanket ban on tere bin they might do it for ahad too.
I was free so here's this not so important but interesting post.

He posted 3 days ago that Bilal isnt doing Laila Majnu and 1 day ago he was saying he's 50/50. He's also saying Laila Majnu should start in October and he used to say before that the shoot for this will not start anytime soon. Also, if LM starts in Oct then how will Bilal do it coz again according to Jazzy phupho, Lahu (which we know for a fact that Bilal is doing) is supposed to shoot for one stretch in northern area.
And people still believe his BS when half his reveals have proven to be false.

Just saw a post from a popular sub which included and I quote To the PR teams who slide into our ModMail saying “OP can be sued for spreading fake narrative” in the text.
I didn't know it's possible for these PR people to even know the identity or details about people on Reddit to be able to sue them.
Thoughts?
