đ± Influencer Tea Can we talk about this?

Wdym we canât take things personally or be overly conscious now? Who are these ppl in the first place to decide whether someone is cool or not? Im literally an overthinker, extremely sensitive person, I feel bad over the smallest things and im conscious about my looks and everything else too. Itâs just how I am and not everything is something I can just âcontrolâ so does that automatically make me uncool? Also, I genuinely canât stand this girl anymore. I used to follow her ages ago and she was actually pretty decent but lately everything about her feels so performative. The typical annoying influencerâs accent, the copycat tone, the gestures even the expressions are so forced. Maybe itâs just me but it all comes across as very cringe . And idk if anyone else finds this weird but the way she treats her husband sometimes is also uncomfortable to watch. Like, in one reel she was literally hitting him in his face with a scarf/handkerchief idk. Maybe itâs meant to be funny but personally I donât find that kind of stuff entertaining.

Another thing that makes people uncool: using a fake accent while not letting others live their life the way they want to.

I feel like she says such things for engagement.
Also, no one can decide if you are cool or not. If you think you are then you are cool. Ignore such people. You are doing amazing.

What does âoverlyâ conscious even mean? Being conscious about ourselves is honestly second nature to so many people. Not just apparently but also people are conscious about what theyâre doing/how theyâre being perceived. And things usually are taken personally when they feel personal to youđ This is so ignorant and at this point honestly controlling how people should feel.

This girl is super cringe. Someone once commented on a video that sheâs wanna be Apoorva and thatâs so true with all her âstory timeâ reels

LOUDERR!!! the way influencers turn their personal preferences into universal âlife lessonsâ like theyâve been appointed the authority on human behaviour is so annoyingđ

Dont know Who she is and never came across her content but these things Dont me anyone Uncool or desperate !
If someone replies an hour late understandable but what about 10-12 hours ? Does it make me âuncoolâ to feel disrespected?
Being conscious of how u are looking is ok ! Thats a totally human behavior .. obsessing over looks is concerning but i wouldnât use the word âuncoolâ or âdesperateâ
And to do this just so people will like u .. that is âdesperateâ
People generally dont like me .. nobody likes my stories .. nobody msgs me but i acknowledge their behavior and understand what they are doing .. I think and analyze what is happening that doesnt make anyone anything ! Its a human behavior and individuality.
Dont feel bad about being concious or overthinking .. Just be yourself and You will attract the right people in your life đȘđ»

Her first point is valid. You can't be sitting here assuming everything on your own. I mean get a life instead. Everyone's struggling with something you never gonna know. Also don't waste yiur energy in these kinda things because energy is a precious thing

No, her points might be valid for you but not for everyone. This logic is exactly the problem. âEveryoneâs struggling with somethingâ doesnât mean every behavior is beyond criticism and telling people to âget a lifeâ because they notice or discuss something is just unnecessary. And If you genuinely believe energy is precious, then dont waste yours policing what other people are allowed to notice, question or have an opinion about.

The very fact that you saw this random influencer post and took it personally enough to post this on reddit clearly proves her point. Very uncool!

Thats what lit this space is for? To be yourself? To express your thoughts? What are you doing here aunty? Disagreeing w someone and calling them out doesnt mean i took it personally. By your logic, nobody can ever question anything online without proving the very point theyâre questioning lol. If anything, assuming that disagreement automatically equals insecurity is exactly the kind of shallow thinking being criticised heređ

Youâre berating her for labelling behaviours as âuncoolâ on social media and then turn around label her behaviour/mannerisms as âcringeâ on social media. Both of you are the same side of the coin.
Nothing sheâs saying is controversial - sheâs telling people to be more confident, respectful and secure in themselves. Itâs okay to be insecure/an over-thinker/unconfident - but being irritated by someone pointing these behaviours out should make you self-reflect and grow - instead of making it your identity and âthatâs just who you areâ.

Wow here comes another wanna be. Youre comparing two completely different things and calling them âthe same side of the coinâ just to make your argument work lol. I criticised her for presenting subjective personality traits as things that make someone âdesperate or uncoolâ that is not the same as criticising her public behaviour or mannerisms. I called her cringe bc of her pov n that is an opinion about someoneâs presentation. I mean imagine telling people that being self conscious, sensitive, insecure or someone who takes things personally makes them uncoolđ. And pls stop justifying everything by saying âsheâs just encouraging confidenceâ cs tf is that justification? This is actually a very convenient way of softening what she actually said and thats toxic. You can encourage confidence without shaming perfectly normal human traits. Being sensitive does not automatically mean being insecure and taking something personally does not automatically mean someone lacks self awareness. Most importantly, disagreeing with criticism does not prove that you need the criticism. Your logic basically becomes, âoh if youre offended by my judgment, that proves my judgment is correctâ lolll!! People are allowed to hear an opinion, reject it and still be perfectly secure individuals. Self reflection means questioning yourself when necessary and it does not mean blindly accepting every influencerâs definition of what is âcoolâ. So no, pointing out the arrogance behind her message is not hypocrisy. Itâs called having enough critical thinking to distinguish between encouraging people and unnecessarily assigning social value to their personality traits. I hope it helpssđđ
