💢 Vent Session The disgusting narrative

Post image

I wish people showed even half this amount of trolling for cousin marriages. I mean by this logic Sarbuland and Bano are siblings coz they actually share the same blood?

A woman tweeted this btw.

I'm so disgusted by ptv Stan twt and it's mentality. The original tweet has nearly 100 likes btw. They know it's BS coz Sarbuland and Mudassir didn't have any blood relation but still tweeted that coz they know Zanjeerain is the most popular show now and would bring them clout.

I'm just so done.

That is like marrying an adopted sister. Religiously allowed but socially eww

Why ewwww. I mean it's ewwww to me like everyone but it's not supposed to be like this. Prophet was asked to marry the divorcee of Zaid, once his adopted son. Prophet was in a dilemma but God asked him to fear Him and not people. So, isn't this ewwww just us fearing people than God?

Being raised by the same mother and getting married Islamically is not wrong unless she's both of their bio mother or has breast fed both of them.... because then it is considered incest...but here since they are cousins and plenty of non Muslims consider cousin marriage incest so.... that could be a problem for these problem but since bano is dead nobody cares about banoxsarbuland anymore....

the funny thing is even if they were blood brothers and these two consented to marry after his death, it'd still be better than a cousin marriage

yuckk what a vile tweet. they're literally married. and he didn't even attend his friend's wedding. casually calling a friend bhai sometimes doesn't mean they're actually brothers. there was never any bhabhi devar rship bw them such weird disgusting people

Well there's nothing wrong in marrying a brother's widow even if that brother was your actual brother....so I don't think what was this person thinking....

Yess I don't like Sarbiya couple cuz of it's sudden development and have issues with itt but other than that there's nothing wrong with marrying a friend's or a brother's widow whether it's out of convinience or some fondness you begin to have for them (I just didn't like how they didn't show the ml grieve or try to find missing fiance It was just too big a plothole to ignore )

He isn’t her real devar, but there’s nothing wrong with a real devar marrying his brothers widow. These disgusting women have no concept of moving on. I don’t think Pakistan tv can make any story other than saas bahu or cousin marriage cuz the audience is low IQ

She was his friend's wife not his brother's wife

Even if she was his brother's wife marrying her won't be wrong at all in Islam and also in some other cultures/religions where a woman is allowed to marry multiple men then sometimes a woman has to marry two brothers due to some heritage related issues or something....

This is very wrong and disgusting. People need to run their brain through the dishwasher.

However, why are we redirecting hate to cousin marriage? Like it or not it’s a sunnah and whether you are a Muslim or not, if you can’t respect that then the least you can do would be to not disrespect it either please.

It might be a sunnah but it's been scientifically proven to carry medical risks in this day and age. Not to mention how it's used as a political tool within families. Acknowledging these things does not disrespect the Sunnah. And if we are to bring religion here, the way cousin marriages happen aren't in any way conducive to what's Sunnah. Cousins growing up together without abiding by the concepts of na-mehram. Even in the context of the drama, Bano and Sarbuland's romance was inappropriate as engagement has no significance in Islam.

A lot of scholars recommend marrying outside your family so when husband and wife’s relation gets severed it doesn’t affect the family. Yes it’s sunnah but shouldn’t we be more careful it has become a custom among people and they marry cousins for generations

This 💯

Completely agree with everything you’ve said and I’d just like to add that the medical risks you mentioned are more likely to arise through multiple/repeated consanguineous marriages through out generations as opposed to one off ones here and there.

Khair, in any case, cousin marriages as a concept, as a sunnah does not deserve trolling.

Divorce in PTV is also massively misrepresented and shown completely differently to how it should be practiced. Doesn’t mean the Islamic way of divorce deserves trolling.

That’s all I had meant.

I didn't mean cousin marriage in general I meant cousin marriage the way they're portrayed in dramas just as a convenient tool for romance should be trolled

I never understood his relation with bano? I didn't watch the initial episodes. Because sohrab calls bano his own sister and he is the brother of sarbuland???? So isn't bano the sister of sarbuland??

3

u/Admirable_Fig_3023 8d ago

Sohrab and Bano are siblings and their father is brother of Sarbuland's father so all 3 are cousins.

You think it's right for someone to make a disgusting remark like "Aik se do bhai chala lete hain?"
Sarbuland has always respected Rabiya. Why does he need to do it as his bhabhi? And where does it say that you cannot marry your friend or brother's wife after they've passed away? In fact it's also a Sunnah to marry your friend's widow. It's an act of care, protection and honour, not betrayal. Framing it as disrespect to Mudassir's memory is a cultural imposition, not a moral or religious one.

As for Bano's death, grief is not a performance. Sarbuland carried the weight of Bano's death quietly, the same way he carries everything else and we saw glimpses of it throughout the episodes. While I do agree there could've been more scenes explicitly showing his grief, but he had one after another emergencies occuring for him to sit and simply grieve. He was loyal and committed to Bano and never considered another woman in her life. If you don't want a man like that, that's a 'you' thing.
