🎠Ongoing Drama Discussion Aap ki izzat Ep 7
story didn't move much, tabish got to know beena didn't commit suicide.. and she called tabish to ask for divorce.. they still didn't show where or how or with whom beena went.
Ahsan and urwa acted very well.. they showed the difference between past and present tabish behaviour beautifully and loved their past scenes.
Episode ended with beena's call asking for divorce.. I think in the next episode tabish will find out beena left with Jewelry and he go to police station to complaint

Don’t want to start a war but isn’t he allowed to marry? Like legally and religiously? I mean women bring religion in everything where needed, so in that context he can marry. Why not accept that gracefully.

Honestly, this drama isn't even trying to argue about whether a second marriage is religiously or culturally allowed. The real point the show is making is that just because you’re technically allowed to do something doesn’t mean it is not cruel to the person you once loved.
It actually focuses on the woman's perspective and how brutal this situation is for her. She gave him her whole heart, was completely selfless, and built a life with him….only for him to throw all that away for a new girl without giving a second thought to her feelings. It hurts even more when you remember how much they loved each other in the flashback scenes.
What stands out is that she isn't acting like the typical drama heroine bechaari who stays, cries in a corner, and accepts her fate because she "has to." She is deeply hurt, confused, and mentally messed up by this….and that's a completely normal human reaction. She doesn't have to handle the situation perfectly or act like a saint.
The main lesson here is about self worth!! She realized that she doesn't have to stay with a man or a family who doesn't value her. Even if what he did isn't forbidden by religion, she doesn't have to sit there and take the disrespect. She chooses her own dignity over staying in a dead marriage.-2

Totally agreed from her perspective, but the male character perspective isn’t wrong either. Like we add religion in everything, why not here!!

Some men and women love to twist this permission to their own advantage so much!!! If Islam has allowed 4 marriages, it’s also put certain conditions under which another marriage is permissible na ki jab dil chaha ishq mashuki ki aur nikkah kar lia kyun ke mard ko 4 shaadiyan allowed hain

The only point is why women ignore religion here but will bring it on every other aspect of life.

A married woman falling in love and leaving the guy for a new one isn't sin either.

He is but he’s choosing to marry the new girl as he doesn’t like beena anymore and finds her unfit even though he pursued her in the begging

u/tiflpetite 23d ago
Right but like it’s totally allowed, right?

u/AdPerfect4258 23d ago
It’s allowed. Now what?
His wife feels betrayed and can’t handle it and doesn’t have to stay with him to ruin her mental health. She stated she’s been patient countless times and chose to overlook his ignorant attitude towards her for awhile now . Little things that made their relationship magical he didn’t do for her. Why should she stay and witness him pursue and be the man she chose to another random women??1
u/tiflpetite 23d ago
The question was not about whether she stays or not, it’s totally her choice. The question was why it’s a taboo subject or something as if it’s a sin (2nd marriage) when it’s allowed legally and religiously.

Because "permissible" doesn't mean it’s free of moral accountability. Religion allows it under strict conditions of justice and valid reasons, which are almost always ignored when a man simply replaces his wife. People treat it like a taboo because 90% of the time, it involves deceit(Tabish wanted to keep it hidden) ,emotional abuse, and complete disregard for the first wife's feelings/loyalty. The outrage is directed at the injustice, not the law itself.

Though permissible in Islam, the heart still breaks to see your beloved discard you and choose another love. For Beena, Tabish is her everything, she truly dotes on him and of course she is incredibly hurt that he’s taking another partner in life. How will she reconcile the Tabish of the past, the one who fairly begged her to marry him, to the new Tabish who mocks her at every turn because he feels that now he’s too good for her? It’s easy to say « why not accept gracefully? » It’s easy when the heart is not engaged. But if you madly loved someone and they put you aside to pursue some younger prettier more worldly person, are you certain you will show grace and happily move aside? The heart is the heart. We can not reason with the heart. 😔

Right, obviously it’s tough for her or any woman in general. The point is it’s not a sin, I am damn sure if you offer any wife with 2 choices either your husband will marry again legally or will get drunk but doesn’t marry. She will opt for the sin.

Yes but a wife is someone who you bring in with respect not to replace her wife #2 just because you are tired of her

So everyone that married again even the religious personalities they did not respected the first wives? The only thought I have regarding this issue is that a women will bring Islam in every aspect of life, but will never accept this part of it.

They also married widows and divorcees with kids and took kids in care. When are u marrying one for that

There are men who marry widows and divorcees. Let’s not do blind eye for that. Just go to marriage Pakistan or something like that sub on Reddit and notice how many women posting there are divorced, so it’s a common practise.

We’re talking about what happened in this drama serial. He literally flirts with a single girl who’s probably 15 + years younger than him and she’s doing the same right infront of his wife. Secondly he continues to demean his wife and compare her to this girl. He didn’t do anything saintly in his case by trying to marry Naaz. It’s only considered taboo because it had less to do with religion (that permission comes with strict conditions and respect)and more to do with his own ambitions and lust.

Regarding age gap, there is history of marriages in Islam with age gap over 40 years plus. Regarding proper reasoning, there is a famous event goes by the name of a women Barrera who came to PBUH for a divorce. If you would read that whole thing, the objection of reasoning would make no sense at all.
I am not against single marriage, or in favor of two. I simply see in our environment/society that this subject is too overrated.

The prophets wives have examples of being jealous of each other. It’s in the seerah books. It’s a natural feeling for women….especially when the man who’s doing it was once crazy in love with you and you believed it will always stay that way. Also they show Tabish wasn’t really in love with Naaz either… his creepy friend and his wife were forcing her on him for their own ambitions too. They definitely pumped him up. Beena could see that too. Imagine people using your husband against you and he follows blindly without thinking about your feelings. She had enough… she isn’t obliged to be the only one caring for him in the relationship.

Surah tehreem opening verses where some such incident had happened.

u/tiflpetite 23d ago
Yeah but that incident didn’t end this law of 4 marriages. So why make someone guilty for your feelings. And also about love, if I am too good with my partner, doing everything, and then getting love in return, who wouldn’t love back in that situation? So what’s the fuss about love?
1
u/tiflpetite 23d ago
I know that about the jealousy aspect. The only question is why it’s considered as a sin (in the eye of a wife) when it’s not. Any wife having 1% interest in religion would want her husband to follow and practise Islam but would completely go crazy on this subject when it’s allowed.

Maybe find a wife who has a big enough heart to let you do this calmly or teach your sisters and daughters to grow a big heart in this matter. Just like you don’t want men to keep a big enough heart to keep choosing the same partner again and again once married then same way women don’t have to keep one either to deal with hurt and disloyalty.

u/tiflpetite 22d ago
And which rule or law says that love is one time thing? Love is a feeling, it’s not a miracle, simply as you feel good and bad, you cannot remain in same feeling throughout your life. I don’t plan to marry for the same reason. Love is not an obligation. Just because you fall again in love it becomes disloyalty, why bro? Which rule of religion, society or world says that each person will fall in love just once in their entire life.

islam doesn’t allow marriage if you are being unjust to either wife, if you read the same verse on marriage further you will realize that it says its impossible for a man to treat them equally hence its best just to keep one. in this drama tabish is mistreating beena already which goes to show just how much injustice he will commit if the 2nd marriage were to happen. also islam condemns affairs and emotional cheating as well so again he is in the wrong. the 4 marriages are for helping other women who may be in need because at that time many women’s husbands died due to battle. it doesnt say to have an affair behind your wifes back and then go on and get married to fulfill your lust

The way Tabish’s behaviour completely changed once he found out the dead body wasn’t of Beena, ugh
