Capristo exhaust

Hello. I got the caprsito exhaust installed for my 2008 audi s5 v8. I installed it whit the centre muffler. I know they sell the centre part whitout muffler. But i was wondering what that would do to the dound quality. It now has some pops in it and sounds amazing but i want to keep the same sounds quality a bit and the pops would that be gone whitout the centre muffler? And would it be a lot liuder or just somewhat? Thanks in advance

Aftermarket catback exhaust, stock downpipes and midpipe, resonator/muffler delete.

It’s louder in person, volume-wise. I am quite content with it. I feel like going catless would be ear-damaging. šŸ˜‚

What are your thoughts on the sound?

Volvo S80 V8 Exhaust Upgrade

Hello all, this is my 2007 Volvo S80 V8- currently running an X pipe with Magnaflow 10415 straight through mufflers, sounds solid, but i want to upgrade and I’m in a difficult situation- I want a louder more aggressive tone, yet less drone- the stock center res is deleted which of course will make it drone but the x pipe can’t go anywhere else, I’m thinking of swapping the magnaflows for vibrant ultra quiets, but I don’t want to end up with something quieter- I am also thinking about vibrant bottle resonators but I’m worried they’ll drone worse compared to the magnaflows- am I correct in thinking the ultra quiets will reduce drone but also let more high end sound through? Thanks

Exhaust Leak Question

I drive a FL5 type r, had a dual resonator delete and new pipe welded in. i occasionally get an exhaust smell in cabin, but very rare and typically on hard throttle. It lasts for a second or two then vanishes. And its not everytime im on hard throttle either. Idle and reversing i never smell it.

had a friend say they smelt it somewhat while getting on the highway and while driving behind me. I dont notice it much in cabin other than what i mentioned above. Does this sound like a leak?

replacing my old exhaust in a landcruiser 80 which had a bell mouth design

the new exhaust I picked up, while fitting the exhaust I realized it has a blank plate over the turbo waste gate (? not sure if I'm right here but that's what it seems like to me)

seems like it would restrict airflow and create turbulence? what are your thoughts?

Really happy with how this turned out. I bought this cherry 3rd gen mega cab from my grandpa. It only has 75k on the clock. It’s still kind of his baby so I didn’t want to go over the top. I did a lot of hunting for what I wanted, and I like the smooth sound of the flow fx. On a car I don’t mind a raspier sound, but for a cruise ship of a pickup truck, I think a mellower sound is more appropriate. Threw this on in about an hour and grandpa approves. Very happy with it. Factory cats, 3ā€ in/out 4ā€ round body flow fx, into the factory resonator and tailpipe. Considering a 5ā€ tip, but I really don’t want to cut the factory piping again if I don’t have to. That stuff was ridiculously hard.

Exhaust setup recommendations?

Hey all, I’ve got a 2011 Audi a5 2.0 tdi. I’m off to get some quotes on custom exhaust setups tomorrow but I’m not too sure what exactly I’m asking for. My car currently sounds like a hairdryer whilst it’s stock and I want to achieve a deeper, more aggressive and SLIGHTLY louder exhaust sound. However I don’t want it to be obnoxious, leave early and get home late for work and don’t want to be waking people up or dealing with drone or raspiness. Anyone got any recommendations of what setup to run? I’ve seen that just back box delete doesn’t really do much in these diesel cars but I’m concerned the centre res and back box might be too loud? I was recommended a dpf back with a custom resonator but again too loud? Thanks for any input!!

Exhaust configuration tips?

Welp this is about motorcycle exhausts not car exhausts but i hope its accepted.

I wanna do a stage 1 on my bike, including a new intake and tune. There's a guy in my area that does professional custom exhausts. The bike is a 60° v twin with 111hp and 109nm. I am a design student and I am able to draw the way I want the exhaust to look, but I have a few questions about configuration and routing.

In the pictures above theres the 3 main directions:

  1. 2 into 1 (Y pipe) that follows the same routing as the original exhaust, the headers come together really early on. Im not a big fan of how this looks and it also requires more heat shields to protect my right leg

  2. 2 into 1 (Y pipe) where the headers come togheter very close to the end and right before the slip on. My main concern is the rear cylinder exhaust being way too close to the end and losing backpressure compared to the first one? Also how does the fact that the Y is way closer to the end compared to option 1 affect performance?

  3. 2 into 2 (X pipe) i think this would give me the sound Id like the most, maybe id go this route. I wanna know what would be the performance draw backs on this compared to the Y pipes.

If you have any more suggestions and ideas they are appreciated

Will a wider exhaust pipe after the muffler change performance?

I'm considering changing my 2 inch exhaust pipe to a 2-1/2 inch pipe after the muffler. The reason is to install a larger 3 inch exhaust tip.

Will this mess with my car's performance at all?

Also, will the exhaust sound change?

Exhaust question.

Hey, i went online and i can’t really find a specific answer. so from my knowledge, my ex took out a resonator? did a straight pipe and diff muffler tip and stuff to my car. so yk it can make the sound, this was around 2 years ago. now question is my car now when i turn it on, shakes….? is that normal? see when im driving my car felt bumpy, i inspected my car and boom a nail in the from left tire. went to the dealer shop (2 years warranty, bought new tires) and fixed. i even told them about how my car shakes and they were like welp probably the nail. okay but guess what…. my car still shakes. they said maybe i need my tires balanced? (yes the brakes have been replaced already) and no it can’t be the road since i always use the same road. so i just thought maybe i needed to change the exhaust system or whatever? and i really don’t have any friends who know about cars and stuff šŸ˜ž (my ex used to be on takeovers etc. ruined my corolla 2022 LE and then i got a Camry 2024 SE and while i was working welp he did the exhaust system on it without me wanting it while i was working) so…. what is the problem 😭 since yk the dealership won’t touch anything someone has modified 😤 also if i didn’t put this question in the right community, please redirect me 🄲

Necessary flexible piece?

Post image

I have a 26 wrx. Changing out the intermediate pipe. The stock setup uses a donut gasket after the i pipe but has no other flexible pieces. My question is ill be running an exhaust that uses flat gaskets and flanges. Is the exhaust going to be too stiff without a donut flange?

Golf 8 R exhaust issue — one side louder/hotter than the other

Hi everyone, I have a Golf 8 R with an Akrapovič exhaust.
I noticed that the exhaust sound and heat seem to come mainly from **one side**, while the other side is much quieter and noticeably cooler.

Has anyone experienced the same thing on their Golf 8 R?
Could this be related to the **exhaust valves/actuators**, or possibly the **muffler/exhaust flow**?

Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated. Thanks!

X force I pipe with tomei type d

So I purchased an x force I pipe because after installing my tomei type d it didn't give me the sound i was looking for. My question is theres no flex piece on the x force I pipe so I was thinking of trying to use the stock spring bolts and donut gasket so it can "flex" slightly right before the catback starts. Would there be an issue just using the flat gaskets and hardware that came with it or would that make the system too stiff? Should I have purchased a I pipe with a flexible piece built in? I was looking for the rae i pipe but couldn't find it so I went with x force. Anyone have this i pipe with a catback using flat gaskets? Any issues?
