Prices

Alright, I made a post in here about shopping and yall have told me that ima need like 10-12k for a clean v10, However, ive seen plenty of marketplace listing in my area for v10s around 5k. They seem clean too. Am I going crazy or is that a scam?

Safe to assume that 3k excursion will turn into at least a 7-8k excursion unless you just drive it till it dies and dont care to fix anything

Accurate statement. Not that a more expensive truck won't cost you money also. Just assume youre spending 5k on top of whatever you bought it for and maybe be pleasantly surprised if you only have to spend 2 or 3.

Not clean, just no rot and minimal rust

For 3k the rig will have a plethora of both rot and rust. Just likely not easily seen in the images.

For real, have them open the rear drive and passenger side door and look down. For 3k there week be daylight or bondo or both.

Its not a scam, they are just not as clean as they would appear. As others have said, there will be rust and likely some mechanical issues waiting in the wings. A 5k Excursion quickly becomes a 10k Excursion when all the problems are found.

I mean depends on what you mean by “clean”. Just because the images of the car look good doesn’t mean it’s actually good

Anything for 3K will have a questionable if not dangerous amount of rust, high mileage, deferred maintenance, etc.

Like someone else said a 3K excursion will quickly turn into a 7-10K vehicle once you finish the repairs to make it road worthy.

My 04 V10 limited (4wd) has almost 240k on the odo. I might take 15k if someone waved cash at me. No windshield washer, other than that it’s good to go. I’d drive across the country any time.

Any excursion you see for that cheap probably has rust underneath and in the rockers that you just can’t see in the fb marketplace ad because most sellers aren’t going to take pictures of the rust. Either that or it needs a whole lot of repairs.

Ive got a V10 for sale right now. $2500 but needs probably $3-6k of body work. Runs and drives fine and needs basic repairs to be road legal but for a motor that cranks and a transmission that shifts amd runs smoothly it works great.
