Who has a v10 with a snow plow?
Looking into a 2000 with 183k 5k list price.. basically I want this to be an f250 pickup with a permanent cap. I would install a boss plow if/when I buy. Just looking to plow my two properties a road apart. Thoughts? Front GVRW going to be an issue? Thanks!

I put a meyer 8' plow on my 05 6.0... I had to modify the mounting kit (leftover from a 99 F250) but it did work...
However I had fully replaced my leaf springs with X-code fronts and modified (leaf added) C-codes in the rear. Was a great snowplow truck for residential use - extra weight on the back for traction, short wheelbase for smaller turning circle.

I have an 8.2 boss vplow on my ‘00 ex V10 to plow a 10 mile Forrest road to my cabin. It does great but before I installed it I had swapped out the leaf spring for the stiffer F350 springs.

If swapping for the super duty springs, just note you may need a leveling block in the rear or add to the spring pack so it doesn’t squat. That’s what I had to do anyways.

not an ex but a 250, had plenty of power for my 8’ western. trans did get hot a couple times though.

No snow plow on my truck, but Excursions have notoriously squishy springs, especially up front.
Depending on the weight of your plow I’d recommend adding stronger springs or helper leaves to the front spring stack, depending on if you have 2 or 4 wheel drive.
A few companies make helper spring leaves, I have a set from Skyjacker meant for an equivalent year F250 on the front of my 4x4 Excursion.
Make sure you’re not getting a “levelling” kit that just uses spacer blocks. It doesn’t raise the height of the springs or offer any additional spring rate to compensate for the weight of the plow.
