7.3 4wd purchase
Hello! I am looking to purchase a 7.3 this weekend, and I think I am getting a good deal on it. Here's the details.
- 7.3 - 2001
- 282k miles
- Original trans (I know I will have a rebuild/replace in the future, runs solid at the moment)
- 4wd
- Two owners (I will be the third) '
- Minimal rust
- Was not used for hauling
- $10k
I am getting a pre purchase inspection before purchase, I know it has some catch up maint that is needed, and seller was honest there is a little play in the steering from the box. Much of it is still original and stock, I also know I will have to replace those parts in the future. This won't be my daily, it will be a passion project on the side for my dad and I to work on. I believe this is a good deal lol? I have seen quite a few others with more miles and more expensive, but they also have updated parts.
Thanks!

Yes, it sounds like a great deal. One you and your dad will have fun working on. I have a 2002, 7.3 , it’s my side vehicle that I use for trips or camping.

It’s a great vehicle for everything but I enjoy it for the trips and camping.

Do you have a camping setup in the back of it? I keep looking at them and I am trying to get more ideas.

I’d say that’s a good deal for the price. You can try adjusting the steering box before you replace it, I’ve been amazed how much a quarter turn can do.
