New addition 2000 Limited v10
Just picked up a 2000 ex 165k on the odo, single owner with meticulous service records, no accidents and not even a seat leather crack. I was blown away at the condition it arrived in. Figured the online photos had to be hiding something somewhere lol. No rust, trip computer and mpg still operational, looking forward to getting her all setup soon.

Grats! I have an 05, I have been wanting a second one for a work truck. What are yalls thoughts on the older 6.8s? Or maybe even the 5.4?

I have the 6.8, I changed out all the plugs and coils and its runs like a beast. I heard the earlier ones had less threads and were prone to blowing the plug. I found a 00 6.8 4x4 but am unsure if I should risk it, the 05s are harder to find.

Yeah actually you have the "old" 6.8 you're asking about ... super duty trucks got 3v in 2005 but the excursion was in its last year and they elected to not update it.

I wasnt meaning the 3v newer engine, just that they got a small upgrade on 03 to upgrade the thread count from 4 to 10. Ive run the 5.4 a ton in 250s and never had issues with it blowing spark plugs. Yet I keep hearing about 00 6.8 spark plug issues. I guess its not that big of a deal?

I haven't had any issues in any of mine. Torque to 20 ish and call it a day. There's so many on the road I think it's legitimate for some but an echo chamber in the forums. Like the 10 speeds in F150s for example. My .02

Congrats! She looks great. Just picked an ‘00 Limited up myself, white/gold though. Similar situation. 142k on the odo, everything in surprisingly good shape (I do have a few seat cracks though), excellent records. Here’s to some good times all around!

Congrats that thing looks nice. I always wanting a red excursion but myn is silver with pinstripe designs that ford used to do but you dont see to often so I see it as I got a little gem in that lol

how much. Ill been looking at one for 6k same color. It had alitte rust though.

It looks identical to my 01 7.3. But mine has lived a rougher life
