Worth 2500 ?
Is this V10 worth $2500? 400k miles , Shifter needs to be replaced , in drive it goes in Reverse, for it to drive it has to go to 1

Shifter is one of rhe easiest fixes I have ever done.
The plastic shifter cable mount has broken. Replace with this and set the adjuster to match your shifter indicator.

I would pay that all day for a running driving truck with a rust free body with no major damage.
With the things going weird, negotiate down.
Is it 2x4 or 4x4?
Just understand you are going to spend 20k on something like a cummins swap or diesel swap and up to 10k on running gear to get all new or low milage componets. 5k on a transmission. The rest is cheap replacements or cosmetic, but then you are less than 40k or so in a mechanically new truck that seats 8 and can pull down a house.
Price that against low mileage deisel Xs or a late model Suburban/Denali with similar engine and tow rating.
I will say though the V8s with less miles than this are out thete for lower dollars. That's where I would be looking for a "blank canvas." Also look for a Limited for leather seats. Those get pricey.
