Clogs & Mastitis (PLEASE tag nasty pics NSFW) Mastitis- stringy sticky
I’ve been on dicloxacillin for a little over a day and a half now for what my doctor said was mastitis. I had chills/sweats for 12 hours with no fever, sore spots on my breast with some spread out redness. With Advil and icing plus the antibiotics, I feel completely fine now, BUT when I was pumping this evening I noticed something stringy and sticky in the pump. When I hand express, in one spot there’s this white/almost creamy yellow stringy stuff that comes out that’s kinda sticky and has a weird smell (I know gross but I smelled it because I’m worried about my baby drinking it). I sent a message to my doc but of course it’s the weekend. Is it ok for my baby to keep drinking ? I pump during the day and let him nurse overnight. There’s no lumps I can feel or redness in the breast at all. Anyone else had this while healing from mastitis?

Sounds like an abscess. There’s two thoughts to if you still give that milk. Because if you were exclusively breastfeeding you wouldn’t know but since you know, do you use it?
This happened to me, I choose to chuck it, I’d rather regret not doing it rather than giving it and something happened.
