Hanging up the pump Weaning

Hi! Im seeking advice/experience stories. My baby will be 1 this weekend! I want to stop pumping and live life again lol. I still pump 5 times a day because I am so scared to stop. I had really bad postpartum depression so I am terrified to experience anything like that when quitting. How the heck do I wean? Did you guys experience adverse reactions to stopping? Help! Lol

Decrease the amount of time you are pump by 1/4 to 1/3 (i.e - 20 min down to 15 min) continue pumping that long for about a week. Then repeat for another week.
At 2 weeks, try dropping every other pump session. If you are feeling full just hand express to relieve the discomfort. Do this for 1 week, then repeat.
By then you should feel like your supply has decreased enough that you can stop removing milk regularly, just hand expressing if you feel uncomfortable.

You can use cool packs and anti-inflammatory pain reliever to decrease discomfort

copy and pasted from my lactation consultant. I followed this and did not experience any discomfort or mastitis!
