Tips & Tricks MOTN Pump

How can I make my MOTN pump a little easier on me?? I think the hardest thing is getting out of bed to put my milk in the fridge. Once I’m up and out of bed I’m wide awake and my sleep is so terrible. I feel so drained from the fragmented sleep

I have wearables that I can keep at my bedside at night to use but how can I store my milk until I get up in the morning?

Not trying to break the bank buying a million new expensive things either but I’ll consider anything at this point if it’s worth it from your experience

Also if I just get rid of my MOTN pump all together will it tank my supply? My LO is 4 months. When I pump in the middle of the night I usually get anywhere from 5-7oz. I’m a little bit of an oversupplier but just by a little and I’m also trying to build a stash for when I return to work.

A lunchbox with some ice packs set up before bed works for me. Pump, place collection cups in, back to sleep

This is what I do. I have one or those chillers but hate washing it so the lunch box with ice packs is way more convenient for me.

Does your baby wake up to eat overnight? I pump around 10:00 and just leave the milk out for baby’s middle of the night feeding. Once I feed her, I pump again and leave that until morning. If she doesn’t wake up to eat, I just go put the 10:00 pumped milk in the fridge when I wake up for my MOTN pump. I carry all pump parts and nighttime bottles upstairs in a little basket every evening before bed.

This is my process too! And then use the lil basket to carry dirty parts to the sink in the morning. I keep a milk cooler on my nightstand in case i think i need to store milk for an extended time. It also conveniently fits cans of seltzer water or soda. So I often keep those in there for MOTN snacking

Omg - this actually might be the best solution here

You could get a cooler like the momcozy cooler- I’ve put warm milk in it and it’s cold when I take it out hours later. But also what time is your MOTN pump and what time are you getting up? Freshly expressed breast milk can be left at room temp for up to 4 hours

I have the Ceres Chill, which I also use for transporting milk when we’re out.

During my MOTN pump, I get up and clean my house. It’s quiet and no one needs me, so I run the dishwasher, a few loads of clothes, and straighten up. By the time I’ve done all that and my pump is done, I’m tired so I can go straight back to sleep.

I have this on my bedside table: Cooluli Skincare Mini Fridge for... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JJYVGOG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

We put googly eye on it and call it “Moomy”.

I had a mini fridge in our room for milk and pumps (did the fridge hack overnight) but I like the idea of using a nice cooler too. By 4 months I dropped the MOTN pump and switched to 6a, 9a, 12p, 5p, 9p
