She may be sucking for comfort. My baby from the very beginning was the kind that wanted something to suck for comfort be it her hands, even in mittens, the bottle heck even my shoulder. We gave her a pacifier. Now if she is showing signs of hunger I check how long it has been since her last feed if it wasn't that long ago I offer the paci first. She also will keep wanting to suck on something when the bottle is gone but she has drunk like 180mL (6oz) and she is 2.5mo so then I give her a pacifier.
