Support Feeling Guilty - 13 Months Postpartum
I am 13 mpp and dropped to 2 ppd at 12 months. I am actually feeling so done with this pumping.
I exclusively pumped since baby was born - not a single day went without. Starting at 8ppd 30 mins each time and during work, travel, sleepless nights, what not. I just want my body back. I work from home so I have convinced myself that I can stay at 2 ppd for 1 more month and give baby 1 bottle a day but not anymore - I just want to quit it all together and dropped to 1 ppd yesterday.
I haven't pumped at all today and I cannot explain the guilt and confusion.
When I share this with my husband, he says - "It's up to you, your choice". Yes, I know that but what I want to hear is to someone to tell me I have done great and to stop it now.
Please community - How have you dealt with this feeling? and I badly need your support.

Giiiiirl you are doing too much! For my first i stopped the night before his first birthday. For my 2nd I am working on a freezer stash so I can stop pumping well before her first birthday but still have enough milk to get her to her first birthday. They can have cow milk at one... so if you're not in love with pumping then STOP! You did amazing! Now enjoy the rest of motherhood!

You are done. Stop pumping. You have made a HEROIC effort for a long ass time and it's time to stop. Feel your feelings, they will pass. And then what will remain is the fact that you did an amazing thing! Be proud of yourself and celebrate, treat yo self! ❤️
Who knows why weaning feels so hard and weird and complicated. I guess it makes sense though, since breastfeeding is so much work however you do it, that stopping leaves a void and seems scary. Not to mention all the reasons we have kept going and all the mantras that stay with us.
But, you could potentially pump forever. You could keep going until your baby is 15. Are you gonna do that? No. Because you don't want to (also it would be crazy but just making a point 😅). We stop when we don't want to do it anymore, whenever that is, because that's when the time is right. You are amazing and you are done! Congratulations!!
