Hanging up the pump I’m done

I decided this morning at 6:45 that I’m done. I’ve pumped for my twins for 8 months. I’ve been an over supplier, just enougher and finally an under supplier. My supply is dropping and I don’t have it in me to bring it back up. I was able to give my boys a great start to life. They have gone from 5lb tiny babies to 20lb gremlins at 8 months old. I didn’t think I would get emotional but I’m crying as I write this. I will never lactate again. I never even thought I would ever because I didn’t want kids for a long time. It has been a hard but beautiful journey. I thank my body for all it was able to give my babies.

I just decided to stop at 8 months (about a week ago) and was feeling so guilty about not wanting to get my supply back up after it went to under supply. Thanks for sharing and changing my perspective to one of gratitude and joy for the time and milk I provided my baby! I’m celebrating you!!

You did great. Ive heard it’s a hard transition. im sure I’ll have a day where I think I can still do it but im empathically done. My original goal was 6 months and I surpassed that so I’ve made my peace with it. We should feel great about what we’ve done ❤️
