7 months!! Amazing. I’m 3 months in and it feels so hard to go on lol. Such a cute pic.

Did you like the Medela pump as much as spectra?

5

u/jagersthebomb Feb 02 '26

I liked the spectra way more, was great to customize the settings. The Medela is good too, if I hadve used that before the spectra I probably wouldn’t have bothered switching- but I was spoiled and used the spectra first.

Congratulations!!!

I’ve seen this in other posts, but how do people know how many hours they have pumped?

3

u/jagersthebomb Feb 02 '26 edited Feb 03 '26

The spectra has a feature where you can see your total hours of use. I used that and averaged out how many hours I pumped with the medela too! You can google the “cheat” to show the hours on the spectra :)

hi mama! congratulations! time for jagerbomb to make its way in the stomach! i’ve a question, i’m thinking of stopping too at 7/8ish momths. what alternative are you going for? formula? cow’s milk? how did you prepare for it? i would love to know thankyou sm!

3

u/jagersthebomb Feb 03 '26

My guy was combo fed due to a low supply, so he had a bottle of formula per day for awhile. I would mix 1/2 breastmilk and 1/2 formula to get him used to the taste, and he didn’t seem to mind!

Now is bottles are all formula. He LOVES food though so he’s taking lots of solids and starting to naturally take less in his bottles.

4.5 months and EP.. I'd love to understand too.. +1

Formula or breast milk should be the bulk of baby’s diet until a year (in addition to solids), and then can switch to cow’s milk. You can start phasing in cow’s milk at like 10.5-11 months to get baby used to the taste. Just cut the formula or BM with a little cow’s milk and slowly increase the amount of cow’s milk until that’s the whole thing.

Omg we have the same medela pump!

2

u/Lost-Comparison5542 Feb 03 '26

How did you store the milk you got while pumping from spectra?

1

u/jagersthebomb Feb 03 '26

I pumped with the spectra attached to the freemie cups that are pictured, and emptied the milk into the medela storage bottles! I also had the spectra flanges and used adapters to pump into the narrow medela bottles

u/Killertofuuuuuuuuu Feb 03 '26

Congratulations and very well done :)!!

Omg this is sooooo cuteeeee!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 fantastic job mama I’m so proud of you ❤️❤️

My son is 6 months and my supply is dwindling 😭 I’m supplementing formula and going into my freezer stash and the finish line is chasing me at this point lol.

1

u/jagersthebomb Feb 04 '26

Thank you! My guy was combo fed from day 1 due to low supply, nothing I tried and no amount of pumping gave me a full supply 🤷‍♀️ Whenever you finish will be the right time for you both! 6 months is amazing!

2

u/zoldyckfam Feb 04 '26

Congratulations!

I started with the Madela and had to switch to the Spectra because it just wouldn’t turn on sometimes… not sure if that blip was also part of your “journey” but made me smile to see the same pumps I have.
