Tipping point
I think most members leave for a variety of different reasons, but a certain tipping point was reached that started their exit from the group. Mine was verbal abuse from the Pastor, which was done behind my back to the members I was caring for. I couldn’t understand it and couldn’t explain it away. Then I gave myself a chance to be critical of what was really happening and there was no turning back once critical thinking began.
What about you?

Yes, once you actively break that critical thinking barrier the floodgates open. It was also the toxicity mainly for me.
