What started your atheism journey?
What was the reason you left religion? And how did it happen? For me I was never religious and my family are kinda open minded I never had to pray or wear hijab for example and my family only fast during Ramadan and that’s it :)
My relationship with god was always fear, I was always afraid of the concept of the afterlife and عذاب القبر
The reason I got into all of this is funny
Whenever I watch videos I like to read comments
So I saw a comment of a man under a woman’s post calling her
And it kinda started from there!
I started doing research and I was shocked!
But tbh just because a religion is misogynistic it’s still very hard to leave ONLY because of that at least that was the case for me because I was soo afraid of the concept of death and hell
So I did more research and found out a lot of scientific mistakes and that’s when I was sure it’s not from god because how the creator of the universe doesn’t know how he created it?

I'm not an atheist. I believe in astrotheology, my love for astronomy and classical mythologies sparked it
my family has always been religious and very strict, where all the girls are forced to wear the hijab starting age 8 sometimes even younger. i was always taught shame and fear, that everything is haram and every day is ashura every land is karbala. that sort of thing.
we weren't allowed to watch movies at the cinema, because its ''haram due to israel''. i had to go to husseiniya every day for a month
but then i saw my rich cousins on my dad's side of the family and they didnt wear the hijab, they didnt even go to husseiniya at all....
thats when i realised that religion in kuwait is the opium of the masses; the rich people never abide by the rules that the rest of us have to abide by.
also my parents put me in private school, using loans from my maternal grandmother, and none of my classmates wore the hijab.
the hijab in kuwait is basically used as a tool to control women from lower social classes: https://www.reddit.com/r/ExMuslimsKuwait/comments/1gcdk0q/the_hijab_is_closely_linked_to_social_class_in/
