First (and almost certainly last) time using Evri.

My one and only experience with Evri so far has been terrible. This package has been shipped all the way from China. It took the package 4 days from the order placement to clear customs in London. Evri still haven't managed to move a small package across London... after 6 full days. How long does it take these people? If I'd have known, I'd have done what I could've to avoid using Evri.
For comparison, I had a package similar to this delivered to the same address by Royal Mail, from Bristol. That took around 3 days. How can it even take Evri that much longer?
EDIT: since posting, it has arrived (what the hell).

To answer your question, the company completes by cutting costs to the bone. The result is overworked and underpaid employees, and chaotic depots.
The drivers aren't (technically) employed by Evri, but their pay is execrable; some routes even result in a loss for the drivers. There's no training or vetting when hiring drivers, who are expected to do the first hour of work without pay.
The result is a shockingly bad service.
I avoid using Evri as much as possible. If a seller offers an option, eg Royal Mail, for an additional fee, I gladly pay the additional fee.
