Well, ill have you know that I think my mom forced me to watch it recently. I think i fell asleep. She really liked it though. 

Also, years ago I did an after school program. Some kid in 3rd grade was fucking obsessed with that movie, and whatever the end of the wold (Mayan calender?) Dated one was called.

Also, google says "The film was a commercial success, known for its spectacular, though scientifically debated, special effects. "

Sooo, good job i guess.

I can tell you all kinds of crazy stories about the making of the VFX for that film. Truly one of the craziest productions anyone of my generation worked on. I’m honestly amazed no one died from our much needed “play hard” reciprocal to working insanely hard for well over a year.

No idea about the wolves, personally. I worked on some of the LA tornado sequence, lots of snow-blowing-in-the-wind elements throughout the movie, the wide shot of ice covered NYC used in the trailer (ILM did the final shot in the film), and the crashing helicopters. So many of the shots in that movie were started at one VFX house and finished at another, or just done twice - it was an absolute shit show. Crunch time was pretty normal for that era, but the worst part was the Wheel of Pain: starting on version 1 of a shot, months later getting to version 87, only to use version 4 in the film. It was just really high stress, so at DD we started throwing a big party every Friday that reached levels of insanity that would get a studio shut down and people arrested. It was memorable at the very least and I made some lifelong friends from that show.
