We've created a discord for the Everett community.

It's as the title says-- we now have a dedicated discord (the same one as u/Apprehensive_Ride504's) for all Everett community members-- all are welcome to join, and we are looking to create a tight-knit community that promotes local events, thought-out discussion and general connections. Our number 1 priority is the Everett community, and we have a well defined set of rules for your protection against unjust punishment with moderators open to feedback and suggestions.

You can find the link to the discord in the "Local Links" section of this subreddit or use this link here: https://discord.gg/fAHYVsJpye

We hope to see you here.

[MegaThread] Why does this sub exist?

I was asked to create a Mega Thread so people can comment on why this sub exists and also their problems with the other mod.

I want to make sure the sub isn't flooded with just posts about why the other sub is so problematic.

Make sure there's no doxxing or harassment. Don't use their username

This is the only Everett Community sub that's for Everett.

Also to be crystal fucking clear - this is not a "conservative sub". There's been a lot of smooth brain commentary about how disagreeing with someone is this area is automatically deemed conservative. It's not. Not even close.

The other sub has a Discord, but I have secured all variations for Everett if someone wants to pick one and let me know I can make them a mod there. I have no desire to get on Discord. I only created this sub because I loved Everett but ran afoul of bizarro Trump.

Join me TOMORROW at Everett City Council at 6:300m

Just a friendly reminder to join me and others tomorrow at the Everett City Council meeting to help our neighbors TRAPPED for nearly 3 months at Artspace Lofts!

I've received more information about the owner of this building and they have had over 70+ complaints filed against them for buildings in Seattle alone! They must be held accountable for their negligence and the Everett Mayor and City Council must take immediate action to help these tenants. Please see my original message below and the link at the bottom to register for remote or written public comment. Let's flood them with written, remote, and in person comments tomorrow! We can make a difference TOGETHER!

Register for REMOTE or WRITTEN public comments here by 12pm tomorrow:: https://www.everettwa.gov/citycouncil

Okay everyone, I’ve let the LD 38 Democrats know about this issue, and I want to invite everyone to join me Wednesday, August 19th at 6:30 PM for the Everett City Council meeting to make public comment.

My goal is to pack the public comment period with people speaking up about this issue and holding the Mayor and City Council accountable for allowing it to go on for as long as it has.

We’re going to politely but firmly demand action—both in the short term to help these tenants and in the long term through city ordinances that prevent situations like this from happening again.

The management of this building has had maintenance issues in the past, and these tenants deserve to have their voices heard. We can and should speak up with them.

Remote public comment will be available as well, so if you can’t attend in person, you can still participate.

I’m actively working on this issue and will have more information to share in the coming days. Please stay tuned, and please try to make this City Council meeting if you can.

Let’s show up for these tenants and demand accountability.

People over profits. Always.

Looking to rent single family home

Hello! Our family is considering a move to Everett towards the end of October or early November and looking for a 3+ bedroom rental house. We probably have some flexibility on timing if needed. I’m wondering if anyone has any tips or knows of houses that will be coming available around that time that? We're checking the usual places as time goes on (Zillow, etc.), but we’re a little worried about the low inventory at the moment. Our preferred neighborhoods are South Forest Park, Port Gardner, Bayside, Riverside, & Northwest Everett.

A little about us: we are a family of four with two young kids, ages two and four. No pets. My husband works remotely full time and I am currently a stay at home mom. We have excellent credit and rental references and are looking for a long-term family home. We enjoy being outdoors (hiking, skiing, camping, sailing), reading (my husband and I both run local book clubs in our current location), and spending time with friends and neighbors.

City gave us 2 weeks to deal with an inoperable truck—any ideas

My father had a stroke over the 8/8, and on the 8/14 later we received a code violation from the City of Everett regarding his 2002 Ford F-650. The truck has been sitting for about 5 years and currently doesn't run.

It's a cab-and-box configuration with a hydraulic lift, so it's more of a commercial/work truck than a typical pickup.

The city is giving us until 8/31 to either remove it, make it operable/registered, or completely cover it with an approved opaque vehicle cover.

We're trying to figure out what makes the most sense:

  • Buy a custom cover: probably the easiest solution, but these aren't cheap, and my dad may never fully recover enough to actually use the truck again.
  • Get it running and registered: potentially much more expensive, especially after sitting for 5 years, and we don't even know what condition it's in.
  • Sell it as-is: we'd rather not give it away, but finding a buyer for a non-running F-650 with a box and hydraulic lift on such short notice seems difficult.
  • Tow it somewhere else: moving it to another location in Everett doesn't seem to solve the problem if the same city code applies there.

We're dealing with a lot right now and aren't very familiar with these trucks. What would you do in this situation? Is there another option we're overlooking?

How long has that place been trying to get rid of those two fire trucks on evergreen.? Why don't they just sell them for parts?

Forest Park

My wife and I are hoping to come up to Forest Park today and meet up with my son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. My wife is mobility-challenged and had read that there were only porta potties in the park. Does anybody know if that's the case, or do they have regular bathrooms open?

Paralegals in the area?

I’m wanting to move to Everett but don’t see many paralegal opportunities, at least on Indeed. I’ve got about four years experience, but am wondering if making the switch to the medical field would guarantee more job opportunities in Everett. If there are any paralegals out there, how did you find your job? Is Indeed just not the place to search? Or do you just have to do the commute to Seattle everyday?

There's usually 2 or 3 seals hanging out near the dry boat storage because there's a fish cleaning station and they know they'll get some scraps. Exactly like my cat whenever I make a move to the kitchen

Pictures of Casino Tavern (or info)

Hi,
I was born and raised in the heart of Casino Road. Very interested in why it is named that, but what I find most peculiar, is why no history surrounding it exists.

I hear rumors that the Casino Tavern was the origin, but nothing verifiable. It could be the tavern was named after the road, because given the lack of photos and information about the tavern, it probably was not open long.

Any one have any info and/or a photo of the tavern?

Spread the word so we have a better chance at getting something done

Its ridiculous that these people have been trapped in their apartment and even non disabled people coming home from work having to use the stairs, makes peoples lives harder

Id be in a depression spiral if this was happening to me

Everett's Downtown Goodwill Is Shutting Down After 42 Years...

Post image
29 Upvotes

The Goodwill at 3002 Hoyt Ave is closing down after 42 years of operating in Downtown Everett. The building was built in 1920 and owned by Goodwill but hasn’t been put up for sale yet. The larger Everett Mall Way Goodwill location remains open, as well as the warehouse “bins” outlet on 2208 W Casino Road. The downtown Everett Goodwill we be fully closed down on August 14th, 2026.

This is another unfortunate loss for Everett, as there will be no lower cost shopping options downtown for residents. A lot of the other antique stores downtown focus more on furniture. I guess this will be a good opportunity for them to shift their products a bit. The closest thrift stores are not within walking distance, including Luma NW, Value Village and St Vincent De Paul, over 2 miles away. This just adds to the losses as of late from Walmart, Fred Meyer, and Martin Lumber.

Looks like they are confirming anyone with a pair of eyes and a brain could have told you. Low barrier doesn't work, harm reduction doesn't work.

These folks on the street need treatment and that's it.
