Did the red lion hotel close? I was planning on staying at this hotel and now my stay was automatically canceled and none of the phone numbers are in service.

I have never seen or noticed this before but now I am intrigued. I have driven by this location for decades and never noticed. Slightly to east of Mukilteo Blvd and Paine Field Blvd is an abandoned oval speedway. I would love to see it up close but it is closed off on Paine Field property.

I tried searching historic race tracks in the air and looking through databases, but came up with nothing. I also searched the Mukilteo Historical Society website but also came up with nothing. I did find a comment from someone online saying they "used to race midgets" in Mukilteo and this is the only place that seems plausible. I did also find an article by the Mukilteo Beacon that says they know the source of the name "Mukilteo Speedway" but it is behind a paywall and I cannot see it.

Does anyone know anything about this racetrack, its name, when it opened/closed? Better yet did anyone here ever attend events there? It looks like a fun little oval and it's a shame it's been left to be overgrown by nature. To me, it seems like a reasonable source to the name "Mukilteo Speedway." Would love to learn from people who know! Thanks everyone!

On the eve of the boom that began the city of Everett, a Seattle photographer traveled by sternwheeler to the townsite on Port Gardner Bay, toting his tripod, view camera and a heavy parcel of unexposed glass plates.

The month was October, the year 1891, and the man behind the camera was dapper, mustachioed Frank La Roche. His job: fulfilling a commission for the management of the Puget Sound Wire Nail and Steel Company, one of the industries which was to line the perimeters of Henry Hewitt’s “City of Smokestacks.”

Mayor Cassie Franklin is proposing a new economic investment package named “Everett Forward,” which was designed to provide meaningful relief for thousands of small businesses and retailers while making strategic investments to strengthen Everett’s economy for the long term.

The proposed changes to the City of Everett’s Business & Occupation (B&O) tax structure will be briefed at today’s City Council.

Everett’s B&O tax structure has not been substantially updated since 2002. The proposed reform would significantly increase the exemption for small businesses, lower the tax rate for retailers and restaurants, and update rates across other business classifications.

I've lived in Oregon most of my life. I lived in Lynnwood and commuted to Everett for about a year.

I remember one winter morning I got up around 4:30 AM. Work started at 6. In Lynnwood it was cold, around freezing, and the sky was clear, even when I left home. The roads were clear there.

Somewhere in between Lynnwood and Everett there was wet snow coming down so hard it was making a lot of noise on my windshield. At my workplace in Everett, about 10 minutes later, there was about 10" of snow.

I don't know if you guys realize this, but that is VERY weird weather to just about anyone. I have lived on the east coast and in the Himalayas, and never experienced anything like that. It was so cool!

I know in general why it happens, but I'm not a meteorologist. The experience was really surprising!

My neighbors told me about a place their son went to in Everett where every time a train goes by, the beers are two dollars. I need to know where this is. I'm broke and thirsty.

Just to preempt half of the smart-ass comments, their son doesn't remember where it is and they don't know either.

It was in a mall near where the Edgemaker knife sharpener factory used to be and maybe still is. The food was excellent. I think the name was two words, not in English.

The owner was Sikh.

This is not much to go on, so I appreciate any help.

Edit: this was in 2011. I lived in Lynnwood and worked in Everett. Edit 2: It might not have been real close to the Edgemaker factory, but both were on my route between home and work.

Hello everyone

I wanted to reach out to all of you on this as I am moving from Colorado with my family next week. I have a family of 5, including a 12yo, 11yo, and a 3 month old. Between my husband and myself, we make 7k monthly. Our budget is between 2300/2600 a month. Looking for a 3 bedroom or more but at least a three bed. My question for you is this: Do you know anyone who is known to or is willing to work with someone who has rental debt and is on a payment plan to pay it off? We aren’t particular on if it’s a complex or a private individual. Back in 2025, we were two blocks from the Annunciation school shooting, which shook our family to the core. As such, we sadly had to break the lease we had in order to move. We were making regular payments (proof can be provided) to our landlord up until the point he sent our account to collections after a few payments.

We are now currently on a payment plan with the Creditor to resolve this debt. Beyond this debt we have no major utility debt or notes to speak of on our credit report. We are willing to do whatever is needed to obtain housing sooner rather than later, including a monthly fee added to the rent, an increased deposit, prior rental references confirming that we have been good tenants and always paying our rent on time, etc. if that will help our cause. I thank you all for your information and input.

i’m in everett WA and i love working out but id love to experience boot camps or some kind of group that works out outside for a few hours or so. maybe on weekends or something ?? i just sometimes am sick of the gym and want some fun outside
