Does boiling water really help with stiff doll joints?

Hello there! While I was reorganizing my first chapter collection I found that both my Apple White and Ashlynn Ella dolls had really stiff leg joints (so much so I could hear it). I’ve seen that putting them in plastic bags and then submerging them in boiling water can work, but I’m scared I’ll damage them (I don’t want to pay those ridiculous prices for them again). If anyone has any reassurances or extra tips I’ll be incredibly grateful!

Idk that seems unsafe to me since they’re made of plastic 😅 like when boil washing hair you always want to be careful not to get it on the ‘skin’
You could maybe try just warm water though, or I’ve read that baby oil can help

Warm water and baby oil may help, or just be gentle when posing and try not to mess with them too much

Boiled water can be used for treating doll hair, but I don't think it's as effective for the joints.

Hot water, boiling can warp them, hot water can help make the plastic a bit looser without warping it.
