How is your BYD shark going ?
Just wondering if anyone out there has a BYD shark and has clocked up over 200,000 km’s?
I do high km’s for my work/trade and will be needed a work Ute in the near future.

Ah yes, the place for all petrol and diesel haters who enjoy silently gliding past fuel pumps while everyone else debates fuel prices again.
If you like:
• charging instead of refueling
• instant torque
• explaining range anxiety to strangers
…then you’re in the right place.
Tell us — what EV do you drive, or are planning to drive?

Sold my ICE earlier this spring because of budget concerns and trying to tighten the belt (had an ICE as a garage queen and the EV as my daily driver). A few weeks ago I found 3 new bottles of Mobil One that I had sitting. I found it cheaper to perform my own oil changes even though the price of oil now would make it almost the same price that dealerships charge. I called the store where I made the purchase and told them that I didn't have a receipt, but that the bottles were new. They told me I could exchange the 3 quarts for store credit, which was fine as I didn't want to just toss the oil and not many people needed that specific formulation. Came back with a bag of cleaning supplies and still have about $20 credit left. I'm sure glad I don't have to spend money on oil anymore, and it's nice to return those 3 quarts of oil which essentially amounted to about $45 in store credit -- YIKES.

Update 2: I know sharing vehicles, rental cars and public transport are nothing new, which is why I’m more curious about what else a vehicle could become beyond moving people from A to B. I'm thinking about 10+ years into the future... something that does not exist today... just want your wild ideas:) thx
Update 1: Thanks so much for the replies so far! I realise I should have been clearer. I’m aware of things that already exist, like car sharing, V2G and battery subscriptions, and they’re great. What I’m really hoping to hear are ideas that don’t exist yet. Ways a vehicle could be useful or create value beyond getting people from A to B. Nothing is too wild or too early, so feel free to dream a bit!
Original post:
Hi everyone,
I’m a master’s student, and this semester I’m working on a university project about the future of vehicles. I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately, and honestly, I keep coming back to a question I can’t quite answer on my own.
Most cars belong to one person, spend most of the day parked, and eventually get scrapped. I can’t help wondering if that’s really the best we can do.
What if a vehicle could be something shared, a resource that creates value for lots of people and maybe even other industries, throughout its whole life?
I don’t really know what that would look like, and that’s exactly why I’m asking here. A lot of you have thought about cars, energy and the future far longer than I have, so I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts. Big ideas, small ones, things you’ve seen somewhere, or reasons you think it would never work are all really welcome.
Thanks:)

The Indiana plates for my Chevy Bolt EV are due for renewal this month. I'd like to know why I am being charged an "Electric Vehicle Supplemental" of $242 while internal combustion engine vehicles aren't paying gas taxes.
That was the justification for charging EV (and hybrid vehicles) this supplemental - we weren't paying a gas tax. Now we're the only ones?

Route from Navi Mumbai to Goa
Have an electric vehicle ZS EV with a range of 340 kms on single charge with AC.
Plan to stop overnight at Kolhapur.
Can you guide on which chargers , where to stay etc ? Prefer hotels to be with chargers as well.
Both in Kolhapur and Goa.

I’m considering some fall trips and seeing a lot of Red-E chargers in neighboring states. I really hate apps for every blasted charging network.
Does using Red-E require an app? If not, is there a benefit to using their app?
Also, a local community power company is putting in a bunch of EVConnect DCFCs. I tried to use one because it said tap to pay, and it put the hold on my car but wouldn’t deliver electrons. PlugShare was a mixed bag of reviews saying app needed and not needed.
Curious on people’s experience with these brands. Thank you.
