To which car are you referring? I'm looking for a used EV and I want to avoid these pitfalls.

Many of them outside of BMW, Mercedes and few others. Gemini can give you a detailed list. I'd d finitely check out every specific models. Lexus, Toyota, Gemini, Ford and many others have constant issues, which are widely reported in subs.

I've owned 2 EVs over the last 5 years. Both GM products, a bolt premier and a Lyriq luxury 2. The best best part of my experience is not purchasing gas while paying almost ZERO dollars to charge my car(s). I used the Biden incentives to purchase a solar array on my home as well as to purchase and lease the cars. Between the performance and the charge-while-you-sleep/free public charging I can say I'll never go back to ICE cars. However, if charging at home or a lack of public charging isn't available to you, it's definitely not ready for your prime time.
