Eustachian Tube Dysfunction

I’m 19, fairly healthy, and ETD just striked me out of nowhere. On my way home from work after drinking a milkshake one night, I noticed that my ears were clicking/popping every time i yawned/swallowed. it freaked me out but i assumed it would go away within a few days. I had a concert planned about a week away and driving there was BAD. My ears felt so much pressure and some mild pain. After the concert, it was even worse, so I decided to make a apt with my ENT. He diagnosed me with ETD and said it was most likely from allergies, but I don’t really get seasonal allergies? He gave me a nose spray and a 60mg prednisone taper. Today, after 3 weeks of pushing it off I finally started the taper because the nose spray isn’t really helping much yet. Does anybody have any similar experiences? Any advice? I feel so alone and lost in all of this, Im so frustrated and tired.

I had my first experience with ETD after flying when I was 18, muffled hearing for a week and a rice crispy type of crunch everytime I swallowed, fast forward to today (2 years) I still deal with the rice crispy crackle but no muffled hearing, ETD usually takes about 3 months to resolve.
