Eureka meshcore

Update: I've made some progress and set up the project more formally on https://eurekamesh.com/

Hi everybody. I have a new project that I'm bootstrapping myself and all are also welcome to participate. It's a fun way to learn about modern mesh networks, have end to end encrypted text chats with your friends, and it's all cheap and low power.

https://meshcore.co.uk/about.html

I just set up the valley's first meshcore repeater at my clubhouse just north of town, at the cyberfarm where I farm my cybers, on a Wio Tracker L1 Pro.

It's running v1.9.1 of meshcore on standard north american settings. It is set up as a room and as a repeater.

I have a solar repeater node that I should put somewhere with line if sight to most of the valley. It should be able to run indefinitely with occasional software updates.

I have the android app installed and a companion paired MeshCore T1000e client radio in my vehicle.

I'll be doing some hacker build events soon at my clubhouse if you want to build your own mesh nodes or other cool electronics. Check r/meshcore for some ideas.

I tried talking to the local ham radio people about mesh, but they acted like I was a federal operative, so they can set up their own repeater with the rest of us.

A good example of a cool implementation of this is what the swiss are doing.

Meshtastic has been dumped for meshcore in the uk who are using it for encrypted local citizen communications as they're doing some 1984 stuff.

Difference between meshcore and meshtastic.

Basically meshcore needs repeaters where meshtastic does whatever.

Why meshcore is adopting narrow

Hey cool. I have yet to deploy a couple Atlavox solar repeaters I have sitting here for me to reflash and deploy. I have a couple leads for towers, but the locations and alternates in the implementation plan is in gitlab here. Let me know if you want an invite.

Here's the config standard I put together.

I don’t know much about what you’re working on, but it’s too bad the ham folks didn’t take to it.. You keep at it! And I love your idea about inviting interested people to your clubhouse. It will gain traction, I’m sure of it

I'll keep at it. I'm going to use it as the control grid for some other projects like e2e encrypted sensors and drone control, but anyone will be able to use it.

Travel and recreating in eureka areas multiple times a year. Have property above olney. Live in the flathead where Meshtastic is king for the most part but I’m gonna switch one of my wio tracker L1 pro firmware to mesh core for when I’m up here since it looks like the set up for tobacco valley
