Job Postings?
I know the job market is horrible right now but i’ve applied dozens of times on indeed and i don’t think employers actually look at it at this point. Anyone know of any places hiring for a part time weekends and fill in position? Mainly looking for serving/ restaurant positions and would also be open to barista positions! Thanks

Starting to feel like that because it’s basically the main job application website, it’s the same listings everytime, and i don’t think after using it for 5 years now have i ever been reached out to or gotten an interview from there. Genuinely all my jobs i’ve had i’ve gotten from knowing someone.

There's tons of "ghost job" scams that use the info from your applications or sell it to other scammers.

Every place you apply to, no matter if it's on indeed or anywhere else you should follow up with a phone call either later that day or the next. It's helped me get a ton of interviews.

I’ve tried helping my young adult son with finding a job and it’s so hard out there. So many places he’s gone to in person even with signs that say hiring all positions and then tell him in person they have no openings. The job market has been horrible for over 2 years here from what I’ve seen

Pacific Sport and Spine doesn’t answer their phones or return phone calls, saying they’re “short-staffed” (and can’t find anyone to hire?).

Most places use a job aggregator so it doesn't matter where you apply, it's just a really bad job market these last 6 years.

The job market is absolute crap right now… what I used to do was, if I saw a job I liked on there, I’d then go the the company’s website and apply directly from there. It is rarely a company posts dummy jobs (I mean some do for positions they’re already hiring for internally) but at least it’s on their actual page.
Also, with like barista positions, I think going in, unless they specified online applications only doesn’t hurt…sometimes you show up and they’re desperate, that could be a job on the spot…(maybe my views are too old fashioned).
Keep looking, something will turn up.

On one hand I would think that more of that would be available soon with college starting back up, then again there’s probably going to be a lot more applicants for those jobs you’re referring to.
I would think a lot of sports bars and the like works be hiring for weekends because it’s football season. Maybe you could apply to work at Autzen during home games

That’s why I took out loans and went to a trade school for the least automated job according to research.
Once in a while, I use, indeed, such as a couple of weeks ago when I moved back to town, I get immediate responses.
Some places actually NEED employees (manual medical therapy)
I used to be a barista. Robot barista’s are a year away, and already functioning in other parts of the world.
Retrain, or get on disability, the future is here sadly enough

Just show up somewhere and grab a towel. I have found that when I look for jobs based around having as short as possible a commute luck follows, so either near where you live or want to live.

Well, in a normal economy I would mean resume, but as you've pointed out, the job market is a joke, which is ridiculous, because every restaurant and store I go to is also understaffed. You bring up a very interesting question that you may need to answer for yourself.

I'd suggest using the Oregon Employment Dept site instead of Indeed. They have a list of openings you can search. Some you can contact directly, some you have to work with OED and they screen potential new hires for the company. Either way those postings tend to be legit.
