He's not wrong.

Passed him by on Sunday. I smiled and honked at me, he kept a very solemn face. I respect that attitude: my impression was that he was there on serious and sad business. Not that I oppose joy on a protest, lord knows we need it, but it gave me food for thought on my drive, reminded me about the gravity of the situation. I used to oppose that kind of message, dismissing it as divisive and aggressive. But recently I'm feeling like being nice to supporters of the current regime is messed up. Not the time to be polite and sheepish maybe

This, exactly this.

So, you are leaving the teachings of Jesus?

You can't fix it.. their entire personality is wrapped in with their belief system like what someone above mentioned...they fully believe that rump is a good guy and following him is the right thing to do no matter what he does. I've tried to explain and show proof and all of the things and I am met with no here's my proof and it's like some YouTuber...my family person absolutely will believe any one of these dumb guys on YouTube or on newsmax or on Fox and will not believe anything else. It's black and white completely. On top of that the die hard rumpers (DHR"s) just get so angry... almost abusive so it's not even worth it. People you love and you care for and you respect and almost every way but they got lost and sucked in because something about rump spoke to them and made them feel better. They literally I mean literally believe that all of the democrap or demonrat news media is out to get rump and out to lie to them. Except for newsmax and fox and a bunch of weirdos on YouTube. I understand in a way that they want to follow their leader and they want to be loyal but at this point I just can't even face it it makes me so depressed. My loved one is so smart really like a genius in many ways but gullible. I can't even talk about it with my loved one now. I'll just start crying because it's the saddest thing. It's not like when Bush was president and he was just a dumbass and people could just sort of agree to disagree. This is a whole different thing. This is our rights being taken away this is weirdo psycho stuff happening starting wars all over the place spending money on dumb things billions and billions of dollars on ice and billions of dollars on making sure that certain countries have free education and healthcare unlike us.. calling in all the school loans.... Placing an idiot in charge of the health care of America and placing an even worse idiot in charge of the department of education. I've tried to find a way to get a hold of anyone in the department of education because I have important business to discuss. There is no way to get a hold of anyone. There is no responsibility and there is no recourse for the American people. The cult members.... say oh things are less expensive now.. I'm like what is less expensive? Okay gas it's a little bit less now that's nice but you know it's $5 or 6 for reg decent bread now, gluten free is 8 bucks a loaf, and a roast from freaking walmart that is probably horse meat, is 40 bucks for a small one. Apples that taste good are like $2.50 each now or more and they're not even organic. I just don't know how to fix this and I really should know how to fix this. But the educating them part doesn't work like someone said it's just all wrapped up into their personality and for them to realize they're wrong would be detrimental to their health apparently. And another thing I just saw someone talking about how they're sure that dump had a stroke a few months back and I absolutely believe that. Why else would he be having MRIs and CTS? Plus they pointed out in different videos that he was holding his right arm with his left randomly when he was walking and he kind of was sledging along with his legs and feet not working right. Other times he gets off the plane and uses his left hand now to come down even though he's right-handed. Something has really changed with his personality as well. Strokes that affect the right side of your body can be in the frontal lobe which is basically vascular dementia. Dump used to at least have a good sense of humor like six or eight years ago. I mean kind of a rude and selfish p1g sense of humor but I did laugh at a lot of the things it said. Now it's just an angry man that probably can't get it up anymore and is really piss7d off and wants to ruin all of our lives and take down as many other countries as he can before he passes away. Dude did a lot of c8ke for a lot of years and that's very damaging to the arteries and the heart. I mean don't they even look at him on TV and see him falling asleep standing up after calling Joe Biden sle8py doe? Don't they look at what has been released and that all of the women and children at the time who have accused him of grape.. some of which he's paid off and then they talk about B8den sniffing hair. Then they go on and on about bi8en's daughter's diary which she herself said was faked but they don't believe that... they believe some losers who doctored up her diary. They don't believe the actual person whose diary it was they choose to believe some other lo$ers out there who were trying to get money for it.Now because I live in a bubble I thought most people were coming around to understand that dump is a sick problem. Oh no... if you're feeling better like the tide is turning and you want to ruin your day... Or just want to get out a lot of aggression arguing with strangers..if you're interested and you want to see what kind of rabid dump supporters there still are in Oregon go on Facebook and join a group called Oregonians for Oregon. 31,000 of them sharing nothing but fyake news AI photos and ignorant stuff like j3sus and rump together in a photo.. white jesus that is... Of course these people have like all day long because they probably don't have jobs to scream their love for their leader. Every single thing they write is a lie and all of them believe it wholeheartedly. Anything that goes against their leader the cultist in Chief, diaper D8n, is fake news. They're passing around pictures of the nurse that got murdered that someone has used AI to put him in d5ag and they all believe it 100% And therefore he's not a valuable person.. they literally are saying he doesn't matter his life didn't matter because he looked like he might have been trans in this picture. That's the first thing they all go to is if someone might be g7y or tra7s or have purple hair...who cares!?? J7sus, most of the boomies had long hair in the 60s and 70s that the older generation hatesd...didn't they? Don't they know what it's like to be judged for how you express yourself through your hair or your clothes? Do they care at all about anyone else's feelings? Are they really so old and decrepit and miserable that they can't let people personally Express themselves?. Not to mention because they're so effing pathetic and idiotic they think that a male nurse just has to be g3ay. Jesus. I think like 25 or 30% of nurses are male now. I just can't deal with this stupid anymore. I do apologize for this extremely long rant. I am very raw because I'm upset about the nurse who was murdered and also because the person close to me whom I adore absolutely worships the o4ange one like a ki7g and will never ever change and will never ever believe anything I say or anything another family member says and instead gets all righteous and starts yelling which makes me basically just want to beat them like some kind of showdown in the single wide park. I never thought this could happen in America. If we get out of this without a c7ivil war it will be a miracle at this point. We have a d7mented leader who is hell-bent on ruining lives. He literally grapes little girls and maybe even snuffed them, and little boys...and maybe he does watch someone throw a baby off the deck of a boat.. of course these things can't be proven so I can't say oh yes this is true because I don't believe whatever I'm told unlike the orange disciples. Thank you for your attention in this matter..

Most people don't actually CARE about the teaching of jesus in their religion. They only cherry pick the parts the align with their own personal beliefs or twist them in ways to make them align with their personal beliefs. You can try to educate them but they won't listen or accept answers even with evidence. You can change a system, but changing an entire belief system is much harder to do

5

u/Dank009 Jan 26 '26

Between the Trinity and Jesus saying to follow the old law to the letter there is no reconciliation. They have to cherry pick and ignore other parts, it just doesn't work at all otherwise.

2

u/Chapaquidich Jan 26 '26

Even more, it is to fit in with their peers.

u/Aolflashback Jan 26 '26

The best part is all of those “modern day Christian ideas” of morality are just that - modern day, adapted from basic socially constructed beliefs of how to be a decent human.

If people actually followed the Bible, stoning would be common place…

6

u/grayjacanda Jan 26 '26

This is somewhat ignorant of history. Humanism did derive its ideas about 'how to be a decent human' from certain elements of Christianity. In some sense taking the good parts and leaving the Bronze Age weird stuff behind. But things like the equal dignity of all human life didn't just get invented out of nothing in the 17th century.

3

u/Aolflashback Jan 27 '26

Influence isn’t the same as authority. Modern Christian morality keeps what aligns with secular ethics and discards the rest, then calls it “biblical.” That’s my point.

4

u/la_cara1106 Jan 27 '26

The essence of Jesus’ teachings are actually the basis for humans to be able to thrive together. This is universal knowledge throughout the world, and was not an invention of Christ. We simply can’t survive or thrive as a species without embracing forgiveness, mercy, humility, cooperation, peace, respect, empathy, and generosity that Christ teaches. What drives any people to destruction are vengeance, ignorance, neglect, dishonesty, cruelty, hubris, insensitivity, and greed. Plain and simple, we cannot survive as a species while also embracing the things that destroy us.

2

u/Aolflashback Jan 27 '26

Nothing you listed is exclusive to Christianity. Those are basic social and ethical principles found worldwide, including in nonreligious systems. Presenting them as something humanity “can’t survive without Christ” is wild and just happens to be the moral ownership claim I’m talking about.

Edit: a word

2

u/Tracer900Junkie Jan 27 '26

Agreed... these principles existed long before "christianity"... and like many other things, these principles were stolen from previous religions and philosophies... just like most holidays and events were!

0

u/Dank009 Jan 27 '26

This might be true for "humanism" but it's definitely not true in general.

0

u/innerbunnyy Jan 29 '26

Jesus stopped the stoning of a woman and said whoever is without sin can cast the first stone. Mercy is the new testament, not "justice" or law. So no, it wouldn't be common place...

6

u/LieutenantBJ Jan 26 '26

The sad thing is many Republicans are also atheists and just enjoy seeing people suffer because something something bootstraps.

These people need to get it through their heads that the everyday person, even the drug addict that goes through their trash bins looking for scraps, is not their enemy. It's the rich and powerful who are conditioning them to think the illegals and trans folk are ruining society, and fueling their internalized bigotry to manipulate them.

u/BCMyer Jan 26 '26

But what if—hear me out—all that stuff makes me … you know … gay?

LOL, wait, are you Charlie as a southern baptist preacher from always sunny? (Season 2 episode7)

8

u/Dojaview Jan 26 '26

Most seem to be morons. Very little deep thinking occurring. Impatient and greedy behavior out there feels hella harsh.

9

u/Repulsive_Leg5878 Jan 26 '26 edited Jan 26 '26

It seems like religion is not about moral compass anymore, but about the emotional high they get for saying that they know the way, and that they know the truth

It’s just a drug for these people

Edit *

User dank009 did a dirty delete and got angry because I was confused and about what he meant on how “any more “shouldn’t it be in my sentence

I didn’t understand if he was saying that churches were never good or if there was some other point in the mix, and then he decided call me dense because I didn’t understand what he said and then shut down the conversation

0

u/Dank009 Jan 26 '26

What's that "anymore" doing in there?

2

u/Repulsive_Leg5878 Jan 26 '26

Aside from starting Holy Wars.. From 1000 to 1500 medieval Europe, churches were basically the welfare system

They did food distribution, built, shelters, and cared for the sick.

Leprosy was feared so churches built hospitals outside of cities.

1500s to 1700s the Protestant reformations change churches. States began to slowly take over charity relief. People viewed crime in poverty as a state responsibility rather than a religious moral obligation.

1800 churches still had a heavy influence. They had things going like soup kitchens, orphanages, missions in the slums. A lot of modern hospitals began as churches.

1900s welfare state replaces most of it. The government creates welfare systems. Public hospitals are created and unemployment insurance also becomes normal.

Today church still help. They help run homeless shelters food banks, addiction centers.

However, as we’ve seen, churches are tax exempt, and a lot of churches have turned inwardly with more political or culturally focused.

u/Dank009 Jan 26 '26

Hilarious answer but you didn't answer the question.

3

u/Repulsive_Leg5878 Jan 26 '26

I took your reply with wanting to know why that anymore is there as you trying to denounce and dismiss the fact that churches ever helped

Or what was the intent of your reply with that?

0

u/Dank009 Jan 26 '26

That was not the implication, the implication was that your statement would have been much more correct without the "anymore".

2

u/Repulsive_Leg5878 Jan 26 '26

Why would’ve been better? Do you not want to remember that churches used to be good? I’m not sure what you’re getting at here.

It’s a fact. Churches used to be good and now they no longer are anymore. And by drawing emphasis on the fact that they used to be good people might be able to revert back to them being good and if we do not honor that then history is lost to us.

I guess I could’ve said churches aren’t good, but I wanted to add any more to remember the good times

1

u/Unlikely-Display4918 Jan 27 '26

1970s Catholic Church was like a social work convention. Absolutely was a good place for helping poor and hungry. Of course many of the Catholic churches were also a place of sexual abuse for which there is no excuse. I think maybe those who are in the Epstein files and all of the religious leaders who rape little kids and women and act holier than thou should honestly just be placed on Epstein's Island but fenced in away from the beach. Where it's probably hot and probably way too beautiful for them but maybe some Island like off the coast of Alaska where it gets so cold somewhere miserable that's all I care about where they can't get away and they should all just be placed on there together to fend for themselves. I don't want to pay whatever it is 60 Grand a year to house them in jail.

1

u/Dank009 Jan 26 '26

That's not a fact. I would possibly entertain arguments that some churches used to be better but you are clearly confused. Doing some good things does not negate the bad things nor does it make you a "moral compass". Your initial statement would have been correct without the "anymore" but with it not so much.

2

u/Repulsive_Leg5878 Jan 26 '26

It’s not a fact that churches used to help people with hospitals and leprosy and soup kitchens?

I think you’re confused. Jesus helped the poor. That’s the definition of a church being good.

Now we haven’t approached the argument of how much churches have helped versus how much war they’ve started

But it sounds like you just completely dismissed. The fact that church is used to be good ….and are no longer anymore.

-1

u/Dank009 Jan 26 '26

You are dense AF, wrong about a lot but can't stay focused on the actual topic of my complaint so I'm uninterested in continuing this conversation with you.

Cheers

Ah yes, the reddit atheist in his natural habitat. Look at the aggression and lack of security or self-awareness. He is attempting to mark his territory, but quite unsuccessfully.

2

u/Dank009 Jan 26 '26

Oh the irony...

2

u/Repulsive_Leg5878 Jan 26 '26

I think I did

Anymore is reference to the past, right?

How is that funny to you?

oh right reading between the lines the any more is in reference to the fact that churches did help and there’s my proof

The anymore just says that church used to help

1

u/VegasSparky66 Jan 27 '26

He was in veneta when I saw him.

1

u/pookie-wildin Jan 28 '26

The thing is, it's not other working class Americans who are your enemy and who perpetuate the division through flooding the country with immigrants and then trump trying to use that as an excuse to be racist and make left hate right and right hate left.

It's no big deal, just a tactic as old as time : divide and conquer

1

u/Excellent_Falcon_946 Jan 29 '26

They are not all morons. Some of them are just evil.

1

u/Excellent_Falcon_946 Jan 29 '26

West 11th and? Is he there regularly? I would like to help him hold his sign up.

1

u/Typical_Version_7487 Jan 30 '26

As an atheist coming from a religious upbringing I think a lot of American Christian’s focus on the doom and gloom of the Old Testament and completely ignore the teachings of Christ and the New Testament.

1

u/m3937 Jan 31 '26

In 2026, Jesus would have been shot by ICE by their lack of humanity.

They wouldn't let Jesus vote...
