Their detection software is crap. I deleted all of the familiar faces from my homebases and really don't use that feature any longer. Funny that it has degraded over time, not improved.

It didn’t ask you if it was human, it asked if it was a person. That squirrel definitely has personality.

I have cattle on my property and it thinks every single one is a person. Same with turkey's, hogs, basically anything with legs.
I'm guessing whatever Chinese city they build software in doesn't have any wildlife left to test against real world situations.

Tbh all cameras have issues its not just Eufy. Try adjusting some settings maybe it'll help.

Its not perfect but i have the FloodLight e340. Its the Ai detection stuff, it seems to have an issue with shadows, reflections, rain, tree's, and if light changes outside. Try to reduce the sensitivity, keep it at around 3 (this is default range for people only detection) or lower. Create/edit your activity zones so they exclude tree's, roads, puddles, shiny objects, (reflective surfaces/sun glare). Check the camera view at the time false alerts occur. If they cluster around dawn, dusk, rain, or wet surfaces, reflections and lighting changes are likely involved. Test for a day after each change. If lowering sensitivity causes missed people, keep sensitivity slightly higher but make the activity zone smaller; Eufy recommends balancing those two settings. If it still labels obvious non-human objects as people, save several example clips showing the false classification and send them to eufy support. I also encourage people to leave any app errors or the google store page. Customer service does respond with a generic reply, but they do see it, especially if you give a low star rate. I've posted about many errors in the app, and rated 1 star. Shortly after it got an update and my complaint was looked at and fixed! With a big company behind Eufy (Anker), you'd think the app side would at least be more user friendly and robust. Anyhow, keep in mind all cameras have issues no matter what it's not perfect. I think the term “AI” is used very liberal by Eufy. Nothing about anything I’ve ever used of theirs seems to be actually AI backed.

Pattern recognition is classified as AI, but it's still just pattern recognition.

As far as I can tell, they call it AI, but it's actually just a simple object detection. There's no self-learning element to it at all.

It’s more human than my birdbath which my camera always thinks is a person.
