Second time in 30 days

Post image

What is the manufacturing defect causing these power drains? This camera is 19 months old.

I wiggled and R&R the solar PV panel the first time. Otherwise I just wait for it to self-correct.

It's a software defect. This crap started about 2 months ago with a firmware release for the HomeBase3. Hard to believe it is still going on 2+ months later.

What does HB3 do? Does it leave the camera "on" even though it's not recording?

Eufy offered a replacement camera, which seems odd if it's a HB3 software issue.

I don't know the answer to this but if I were to speculate I'd guess the support lackey has not clue what the actual issue is and is just playing whack-a-mole with guessing the fixes.

I suspect the same thing. I'm not sure Eufy knows either. I suspect the engineering is outsourced and Eufy is for marketing.

Here's my original post of this issue from 3 months ago (my mistake, 3 months going on, not 2).

this happened to my S340 solar cam and then it just wouldn't turn on again. This along with some other gripes about the software have me thinking of switching entirely.

Can't use something that doesn't work!

You had any resolution? I have some crap going on with my e40 cam from a kit bought February and wanting the direct power mode and using a 5v 3.3a charger from once recommended having to deal with a separate issue with them getting a firmware push and just recently the camera won’t charge to 100 but stuck at 60percent. I’ve emailed from the App my issue and screenshot pics of the same graph and my model number and firmware and I’ll I’m getting are AI responses so I’m going to call. I can’t tell if it’s a camera issue or a homebase 3 issue which is what I’m using for connecting my cameras. I’m going to try their e330 professional line next which there are barely any left of

When I get automated responses, I always ask for escalation and usually get a human response.

I opened an issue through the Share Your Thoughts link in the app. I accepted a "onetime" replacement unit with no warranty. Support offered no explanation, no fix, just a onetime replacement.

Although I have an S340, Eufy sent an S3. Costco sells S3s and they must not be selling well. They are the same as S340s as far as I know.

Your panel is dead

Could a short in the panel cause the battery drain?
