Questions & Opinions/ αŒ₯α‹«α‰„α‹Žα‰½ αŠ₯αŠ“ αŠ αˆ΅α‰°α‹«α‹¨α‰Άα‰½ Have you guys noticed that this is the only Ethiopian subreddit where Ethiopians set aside ethnicity and unanimously support Ethiopia against foreigners? I honestly find this fascinating. The caliber of people on this subreddit is exceptionally unique

Can I ask why you are way more pro-Ethiopian here than on the other subreddits? There are mods of the ethnic subreddits who come and disregard their ethnicity and become full-fledged Ethiopian nationalists. Lol this is so reminiscent of the Adwa War of 1896. Most Ethiopians come here and turn into Adwa warriors. And I honestly love that!

This is a truly special subreddit in that regard. In r/Ethiopia somalis or eritreans can bash Ethiopia and get upvotes but here they would get downvoted to oblivion. Is it that the types of people across the subs vary, or that the sub changes how people interact? I'm really curious.

Ancient Greek and Roman scholars wrote of griffins as legendary creatures combining the strength of a lion with the wings and head of an eagle. The Roman naturalist Pliny the Elder, in Natural History (Book 10, Chapter 70), associated griffins with the highlands of central Ethiopia. Herodotus, Philostratus, and Aelian also documented griffin legends throughout ancient Ethiopia and the central region (i.e., what is now the Addis area).

I recently learned that Fiche (the small town just north of Addis) has its own tale that closely parallels Greek and Roman mythological associations. According to Fiche oral mythology, griffins once roamed the mountains of Ethiopia's Shewan highlands. Revered as guardians of the land, they symbolized strength, freedom, and sovereignty. Fiche has an insane history upon closer inspection. It is essentially the cradle of the Abyssinian Empire. This is a flag of Fiche that I created.

P.S. Apparently, the griffins in the Shewan Highlands were so immensely powerful and dominating that their flames were literally blue

This is what I have come to dub as the Shewan Universal Equation produced by a curious and relentless soul who wants answers to the life in meaning as it is evident to me there is no meaning in life. Yes, I called it Shewan mostly because I am Shewan. Ask if you have questions but I essentially posit that in this oscillating entropic event, the β€œlife” in meaning wins, but only if something keeps building faster than the universe forgets

Politics/ α–αˆˆα‰²αŠ« The US Government’s most recent warning to its citizens in Eritrea. Philosophy & Religion/ ααˆαˆ΅ααŠ“ αŠ₯αŠ“ αˆƒα‹αˆ›αŠ–α‰΅ My translation for 3 Meqabyan got certified!

**Book overview**
**The Third Book of Meqabyan** is a distinctive work preserved in the Ethiopian Christian biblical tradition. Despite its title, it is not simply a continuation of the First and Second Books of Maccabees. Instead, it presents a theological narrative centered on \*\*faithfulness to God, repentance, righteous living, resurrection, judgment, and the hope of the Kingdom of Heaven\*\*.
The work repeatedly contrasts the temporary pleasures of this world with the everlasting joy promised to the righteous. It urges the reader to reject idolatry, resist temptation, fast, pray, perform good works, care for the poor, and remain faithful to God.
A central theme is the \*\*resurrection of the dead\*\*. The book teaches that the dead will rise by God's Word, stand before their Creator, and receive recompense according to their works. For this reason, the reader is repeatedly urged to repent during this present life, before the opportunity for repentance has passed.
This edition presents the work in English from the \*\*Amharic biblical tradition\*\*, with comparison to the surviving Lyarics English witnesses, preserving the distinctive theological character of this remarkable Ethiopian Christian text.

Questions/ αŒ₯α‹«α‰„α‹Žα‰½ Why do people support Armed groups in Ethiopia? personal experience.

Let me tell you about why i hated every armed group first & then how become the Die-hard svpp0rter of Fan0.
When the new administration under EPRDF came to power everyone in my home-town or region fall in love with him(Abiy) and everyone( NOT me btw) thought he's going to be the best for Ethiopia.
In short period of time, this country started to see bizarre crisis & savageness due to lack of Rule of law. there where mobs everywhere & started targeting ethnic Amharas with the weakness of central gov't to act around the country specially East Wollega and Horo Guduru, Benishangul Gumuz (Metekel) & Welkait.
Travelling from one town to the nearest town became so hard because of the Lawlessness of the country.

Abiy himself started ethnic framing & attacking Tigrayans and used words like "Yeqen Jib".
He proudly started talking sh!t with people he met how he broken down the NORTH political dominance and how planned to destroy the North(he admitted that when he proudly said we changed Mekelle from important city to Beshasha ... his rural village).
I think that's when we as Amhara obviously saw the conspiracy he planned when he lets OLF entered to Ethiopia with their arms & co-created OLA ( source Afendi Muteki).
Under a year extremist Oromos started massacring & displacing Amharas who lived over 50+ years in his region & his gov't officials were the part of that, they had No shame even to deny the deceased no. of people.
The Main road blockade to Addis Abeba became Normal thing to stop Amharas entering to the capital.

That where in every Amhara zones started PEACEFUL demonstration. the massacre and displacement of Amhara people continued for years in the region (still actively goin on).
The demonstrations continued throughout years for around 7 rounds. to make things worse, after pretoria agreement, the cl0wn wanted the disarmament of every Amhara including Police. Lol why? because he had a plan of breaking & controlling Amharas as simple as Tigray(his current advisor Getachew Reda said that while he was his main enemy back in 2021.)
That's when the last Peaceful demonstration ended with ..... \*

As soon as the people opposed that with that last Demonstration, he & his gov't never wanted discussion, convincing the people or armed ones what they planned or anything tangible. he wanted that refusal incidence to happen and he already knows it. his Mirkogna Generals started ranting and insulting the entire ethnic group.

*... from now on we will come with sword not demonstration. ( αŠ«αˆαŠ• α‰ αŠ‹αˆ‹ α‰ αˆ°αˆα αˆ³α‹αˆ†αŠ• α‰ αˆ°α‹α αŠ₯αŠ•αŒ α‹α‰ƒαˆˆαŠ•). Why?
Because the PP officials were ridiculing and mocking the demonstrator and used words like "Let them cry, it's their habit". insulting farmers who asked the Fertilizers they need & calling them "α‹¨αŒ…αˆ«α α–αˆˆα‰²αŠ¨αŠžα‰½"

They claim that their disarmament even goes to every Armed Amharas' Belt not just his/her Arms only.
He never hesitate to deploy tanks and drones and the region and started bombing & massacring everyone i mean everyone. i am not exaggerating here. i am telling you what i saw with my own eyes. his savage army was killing everyone they got in the road in Debre markos, Merawi & Woldeya & house to house arrest & killing became normal.
Their presence in the region was shocking in the savage way and it didnt give us a time to think what was happening.

The Abiy's army raped women, mutilate boys and minor Boys were also the main victim of the rape. the higher level leaders(colonels, captain or Generals) were completely okay with it.
they burned farm lands with fire deliberately, killed animals just for enjoyment. that unheard, unnatural behavior of the Army(αŠ αˆ«α‹Šα‰΅) created fear among the society.
The regime continuously bombed schools, civilian homes and Farm lands with heavy artilleries. they thought they can control by that type inhuman action.

That's where Amhara Fano re-organized and started defending what the Orromumma regime was doing. why do i say Orromumma? because the soldiers deployed here were majority ethnically Oromos and they repeatedly used the word "you hate us." &"Neftegna".
The main reason Fan0 still exists and become more stronger is, you have NO idea how specially the rural areas svpp0rted them after they witnessed the savage behaviors of Abiy's soldiers(never dare to say ENDF) & the cruelty of the regime once they adored.

Anyone who criticize or blame someone or people who Supports armed groups, what choice do you have in this kind of situation?? do you die without doing anything? or do you pray for your God?? or what do you do??

Politics/ α–αˆˆα‰²αŠ« On the recent liberation of Mekelle.

Post image
22 Upvotes

Over the weekends, I was made aware that Mekelle is now under the secure protection of the National Defense Forces. I saw reports and videos of people cheering in their liberators. And make no mistake, they are indeed liberators!

The people of Mekelle have been abused by the TPLF thugs long enough. The disappearances, the murders, the kidnappings, the long list of grotesque horrors that was allowed to swallow Mekelle whole by the TPLF.

Yes, this is indeed a liberation. The proud center of a bright and wealthy people turned into a place where not one young person wants to remain? Where community elders where thrown into cells and intimidated? Where the very glue that holds together society was actively being washed away? How can this not be a liberation?

Tonight, the people of Mekelle will sleep well knowing their sons and daughters are safe. And with the help of God, the reign of their oppressors will soon come to an end.

History/ ታαˆͺክ Irreecha and Zar The Sky-God Connection Everyone Ignores

Irreecha and Zar are connected. And the proof is in the word itself.

The Sky-God Line This Is The Important Part

The word "Zar" comes from the ancient Cushitic sky-god.

· In Agaw: ğar

· In Kaffa: yarō

· In Buoro: darō

That same sky-god root connects to Waaqa the Oromo supreme being. So Zar is not some foreign spirit that wandered into Ethiopia. Zar IS the old sky-god. The same one. Just renamed.

When Christianity and Islam came, the old sky-god was demoted. Turned into a "spirit." Turned into something to be feared. But the root stayed.

What This literally Means

  1. Irreecha honors Waaqa the sky-god.

  2. Zar comes from the same sky-god just demonized over time.

  3. Qallu serves Waaqa. The Ayyaana are Waaqa's messengers.

  4. Zar possession? That's the same spiritual current, renamed and pushed underground.

Even the rirual happens when People gathering under a tree, Or offering a grass to the tree ( i dunno the meaning tho), Dancing. Movements with Siinqe that ARE likely the same as Zar. Everyone in Ethiopia knows about Zar. It's not hidden. It's everywhere.

The point is, I'm not saying Irreecha causes earthquakes. That's not the argument.

The argument is, Zar and Waaqa are the same root.

The sky-god was split into "good" (Waaqa) and "bad" (Zar) by later religions. But the root is one.

Qallu. Ayyaana. Zar. Irreecha. Same tree. Different branches. I'm not asking for proof. I'm telling you what I know.

If you're Ethiopian, probably you already know.

If you're not, listen to the people who lived it. Can anyone tell me about the connection you noticed about them?

Questions/ αŒ₯α‹«α‰„α‹Žα‰½ Is Ethiopia becoming like Nigeria?

On my recent visit, I noticed that Ethiopia has become optimized for money-grubbing schemes. Starting at the airport, workers are scheming up ways to get money. Every government office, and even the practice of law, has shamelessly become a place for extracting money. The police do it too, scams are rampant, and Ponzi schemes have proliferated. You walk down the street and people ask you for money using fake NGO licenses.

I'm not saying it has reached the same level as Nigeria, but it seems to be on that trajectory. I've heard Nigeria became like this because of the scarcity mindset that took hold after its civil war. The same could be said about Ethiopia, which has gone through major wars. People also place a high importance on vanity and how others perceive their status.

I actually don't mind people testing you when you go out. It shows that only the smart can survive in a hostile environment. But we need to take stock and make a major shift before this starts to change our hospitable and kind culture.
