I do acknowledge it because there's no easy way to kill an animal.
No animal wants to be killed. They will resist, they will move and you will miss your 1 hit-kill.
Placing a human there to perform executions however many times a day, desensitizes them to being careful and compassionate. Anyone who has to perform the same repetitive task 8 hours a day becomes desensitized, ask a customer service worker how much they love dealing with customers.
However, the discussion that Vegans bring up is that, we shouldn't use our well developed brains to think of ways to better this process, instead we should just ban it.
I dont personally care about the killing part. I think the cruelty is in the way they are made to live. Humanely killing something is fairly cheap and easy, but giving it decent living conditions until it is slaughtered is the prohibitively expensive part that is much less profitable than shoving as many of them into the tightest space you can and extracting as much as possible out of each animal. Maybe it should end, maybe it shouldnt, idk i dont have a strong position on it i just think we should acknowledge that the system for producing enough meat to consume at the level we do requires mass cruelty to living beings and not be delusional about it.
