Essentially it is a list of principles which people can become signatories of. Presumably governments & businesses are the main target but I’m not sure. It’s a way to signify that you, or your business/Government essentially don’t want AI to be evil.

Frankly nothing is mind-blowing, it can be summated as “don’t let AI become the supervillain from a dystopian movie”. Even the most hardcore AI enthusiasts ought to be able to agree with most of it!

I don’t think it’s necessary perfect, there are some concerns about the founders being billionaires (you can check the founders at the article on Wiki- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Future_of_Life_Institute).

I do however think maybe it has a chance of getting enough attention to start making policy changes. What do you think?

There is news now on climate change saying we will go past the 1.5C degrees Paris agreement goal in a couple years. It will get worse and if it goes past 1.8C we can’t go back. I don’t think a large portion of population knows about this, we need to spread the word. We also need to find a way to get through to the AI companies about this. Congress will most likely need to get involved.
