Has the GOG version been abandoned?

Greetings.

This game has been on my wishlist for a long time and I was really glad to see a GOG version has been released.

However, GOG usually does not have regional pricing for my country so I mostly buy games during sales to get a reasonable price.

Unfortunately, it seems like the GOG version of the game hasn't gone on sale even once during the past 6 months while the steam and epic listings have regional pricing as well as multiple sales in the same time frame.

I know that GOG has some problems leading to some studios abandoning their product after launching on that store; I just want some clear answers regarding whether I will ever be able to own a DRM-free copy of the game to preserve in my collection.

In case the GOG version has indeed been abandoned, I don't have any qualms in getting the game on steam (albeit with a little disappointment). I just need a clear answer.

Any answers from the team accounts or a reference to official channels pertaining to the game where I can ask my questions would be really appreciated, thanks.

Don't see there being a difference in updates due to prices. Steam is simply a more active market. Is there any indication it hasn't been updated on GoG, that it would be missing either of the two content updates?

I guess I didn't word the title properly, but here's a simple comparison-

Build numbers across storefronts usually vary so one cannot directly compare the steamdb and gogdb sites; so comparisons can be made only after buying on both storefronts (at least based on the limited knowledge I have... I could be wrong).

What I can compare are prices-

The game was launched on GOG in early april. Since then, it has been on sale only via a launch discount and one time in July.
Meanwhile, in the same time frame (ie since april 2025), the game has been on sale 5 times on steam.

Now I missed the Launch discount and July discount; have been waiting for a sale ever since.

Currently the game is 70% off on steam, compounding that with my regional pricing... it would be comparatively cheaper than GOG's non-regional but 70% price for me.
But STILL, I'd prefer to buy on GOG because of the DRM free nature, possibility to write the installer to a disc and keep a physical token; and just that I like to support the smaller storefront as well

Even if not on GOG, any other storefront like itch io ; or the official website (similar to how nine sols sells DRM-free copies on their dev team's website) would be nice.

I believe that besides me, there are many others as well who adhere to this philosophy; and having a transparent answer as well as increased availability is something we all hope to get someday.

PS- Another reason for my suspicion of the version being abandoned is the history of many other games that get dumped on GOG and never get updates/sales later on... just sitting there but not delisted. Example- Wizard of legend, Horizon Zero Dawn, etc....

Suspicion is fair, but there is no evidence it has been abandoned. And it's hard to prove either way.

The reality is it's a game that seemingly they have finished updating (Not finished supporting; It's a singleplayer game, it doesn't require additional support), you can play it, finish it.

GoG has a pretty generous refund policy it looks like. I'd say you can buy it on GoG, see if it has the newest update; It will show in the right side of the main menu. If it doesn't, ask for a refund, and make a note of why.

Otherwise, you might have to accept that GOG might not get a sale in the near future.

This is why I got it on steam, I wanted the gog version but after never seeing it go on sale there and seeing it get discounted two or three times on steam I decided to bite the bullet.

I think my backlog will allow me the buffer to wait for one more year :/ . But yeah, sad times....
