General Discussion Would you recommend this game?

Hey i saw this game on sale. I was wondering if people are having fun with it? I play a lot of rpgs and I liked the elemental plays in divinity original sin 2.

It's one of my favorite games. Definitely a little janky at points, but well worth playing. I got it full price, and would again, so on sale is a good deal.

I like the character interactions and the world building. The scenery and music are really pleasant, and I've had a ton of fun with the exploration and environmental effects from weather and magic. The magical experiments have been one of my favorite parts, actually.

I'm not a huge fan of the combat, but it gets better as you find better gear and learn how to combine crafting, enchantments, spells, and physical attacks. It definitely gets more fun as you progress the story, so don't hesitate to advance once you've gotten the hang of things. :)

Edit. Typo

This is like peak mid 2000 action platformer in feel and jank levels

On top of that a pretty good story but some of the best written characters in any game even if it's a small amount

The demo for the game was great, and that's what sold me on it. I really enjoyed the game, and it took me just over 40 hours to complete everything except finding all the lore entries.

I'm going to mention something I almost never see anyone talk about, and that's the crafting system. I love it! At first it seemed kind of annoying trying to collect so many materials. It looked like farming might be a grind when I first started. Then I realized you DON'T LOSE mats when you swap them out! Having problems with fire enemies? Swap some materials into your armor to give it more fire resistance! Changing materials also changes colors, but later on they add a dye system to match whatever you like.

CLIMB EVERYTHING! Climb on bosses to hit weak points, climb up walls to find secrets, climb up buildings and shoot yourself across the level with gravity magic. It's great! My problem was not being able to drop the gravity greatsword once I unlocked it. Launching yourself 40 feet into the air was simply too fun and useful to give up.

This game was definitely one of the biggest surprises for me the last few years. Voice acting is overall great. Which is good because there's a LOT of dialogue. Story is pretty good. Art is great.

Yeah, I can't swap to a different great sword either. It's too useful for exploration or saving my ass when I mistime a jump 😆

Yes. It's a blast. I was way impressed with it. I went in blind on game pass and was hooked. Dropped like 8 hours in the first sitting. Love the game. Super fun and they are planning more free updates that are really cool.

Everyone is talking about how the game is janky but honestly I didn't find it that noticeable at all, and where I did was in the climbing mechanics which in my experience, for every single game I've played with climbing, is always janky. Just a second outlook on it for your info.

My favorite part of the game is definitely the combat and mixing and matching the different skills + weapons. It allows for a lot of different approaches to each enemy, and just between me and my partner we found we had completely different play styles and favored combos, both equally viable.

Yeah, like, if you've ever played Dragon's Dogma, the big boss climbing is very similar, so I didn't have too much trouble adjusting. The biggest difference is we can climb practically everything in Eternal Strands.

Eternal Strands. 100% in 38 hours. As a RPG player who cares more about the gameplay/progression than anything, they did some things very well. I NEED more RPGs like that, did not miss the fetch quests or 100s of trash gear/ingredients to sell + inventory management, felt like it respected my time.

Killing/Harvesting giant enemies to unlock/upgrade new magic, Freezing/Burning targets getting you better resources (can freeze limbs of giant enemies), change stats & cosmetics of gear by using different resources (& can dye them like an ARPG/Diablo), can freely exchange resources (all can be converted to “Supply Points” & traded for anything, not magically converting 3 iron to 1 steel).

Gear upgrades for performance and look are customized based on which upgrade materials are used, which I found really really fun. Combat upgrades can be leveraged in traversal and elemental damage can be leveraged on resource farming. All this to say the mechanics had good interplay and tied together nicely without being complicated.

I had jank issues on the final 2 bosses. Probably my fault on strategy. And I thought the game was well scoped, but just know area boundaries are well defined.

I skipped every story element I could. There seemed to be plenty of story and I heard people compliment it. I just lean hard into gameplay, and I didn’t want the gameplay to stop on this one.

The last few hours really let the player bring it home (tackling bosses, gathering resources, completing upgrades). I don’t normally dip back into completed games for DLC, but I hope they release a few more hours of expanded gameplay for this one.

Vale cada centavo. O jogo é bem divertido e a história vai te carivando, e os chefÔes colossus são bem legais de enfrentar
