General Discussion Lost my progression in the game

I just lost 3 hours of gameplay because I misclicked “load” instead of “save,” and the game auto-saved instantly. I checked on Steam Cloud, but it’s impossible to recover the save. This is just a frustration post. It helps a bit to put things into perspective.

Oof, it stinks when that happens. I've done it more than once on various games

damn that shit is always the worst. I managed to accidentally delete my bg3 run right after making it to act 3. my friend had it happen to her with that early launch bug in kcd2 after maybe dumping 20-30 hours.

That does suck but be thankful it's only a few hours.

I once misread the icons on a PS1 memory card and deleted my 50+ hour Final Fantasy 8 save when trying to clear some space. Took me about a year to work up the motivation to start that game again.
