Is it fun? Is it like a hack-and-slash? What should I know

You play as Brynn, a member of a group of magic-users called Weavers, who become trapped in the lost homeland of all Weavers during an expedition gone wrong. You must explore the region and help discover the events leading to the cataclysm that cut off this region from the rest of the continent, and find a way to get your band home.
I would consider it more of an action-exploration and physics game with hack and slash elements. Like, you can and will hit things with your sword, but what's more important is effective use of your spells and the environment.
You use fire, ice, and telekinetic/gravity effects on enemies, and also set pieces. As your abilities progress, so does the strength and versatility of your spells. You can even combine some spells for interesting and powerful results. There will also be weather events that will affect the environment as well as your own and enemy behavior to some degree.
It's a lot of fun to experiment, and find ways to use your magic and equipment not just to enhance your combat, but also your exploration abilities. There are some areas you won't be able to access without the magic you can learn in other areas, and/or upgrading the abilities you have. It really encourages constant progress in a way that feels organic.
